I understand our teeth can only move about 1 mm per month, so hang in there! Your ortho will get you (pardon the pun) "straightened out"... sorry, had to say it.
Does anyone else ever have times where they think they're not making much/any progress? Today, for me is one of those days.
I went for my 6 week routine check this morning, knowing as soon as I sat down that things weren't that good. My ortho said my back teeth were still not moving together as they should be and when he asked me to bite together I couldn't do it. I've noticed the bite change over the last 6 weeks since he put a spring on my front lower teeth to open up and make room for my (future) bridge work. It seems now that the lower tooth has not only opened but it has tilted forward so it is now catching/hitting on my top two teeth. I presume this wasn't meant to happenI'm guessing as this change has been happening over the last few weeks I have learnt to bite together in a different way or something as it's really awkward and feels abnormal now. It's as if I don't know where to rest my jaw when biting down
So, today I've had build up put on my back lower teeth, a train-track sort of rubber put along the tooth with the new formed gap and my elastics taken away from me until I have to go back next week. He said he is now going to move this tooth back to stop the catching. Let's see what happens next week.
I've been wearing my braces since last April/May now, and although they've come along way I still feel like I'm not getting anywhere fast. Sometimes I feel like its 2 steps forward and 5 back.

I have had MANY of those days.
I've had my braces in for 1 year now and the entire time none of my molars including premolars touched.
I am chopping mostly semi-raw meat with my canines, plant matter is impossible to chew. I'm pretty much on a carnivorous diet atm (which is kinda good for my teeth, the less carbs the better I guess), but I sure miss a good ole salad. Not fixing this situation has brought anger up in me many times. Thankfully it is the finishing phase now and on todays check-up he finally bent the wire so that canines move out and molars move down. Hopefully, in about 2 weeks or so I'll be able to enjoy some lettuce again.
