    loooose teeth!

Hi everyone. I know it is common for teeth to feel loose during treatment but I have one that is much looser than the others and I can see it moving if I wiggle it with my finger. It is the one next to my front right tooth. If it was any other tooth I wouldn't be so concerned but last year I smashed my front tooth and gum on a piece of reinforced glass. Managed to fix my front tooth but I'm concerned about the gum damage. Do you think this might be stopping my wobbly tooth from repositioning securely?
    thanks for any help!

I'm sad that no one has replied to this because I have the same question! I just got my braces on today and already some of my teeth feel a little loose. Is it supposed to happen this fast? I mean they don't wiggle like a loose tooth when I was a kid, but they're noticeably looser and if I push with my tongue, it hurts. It that common?

It is very normal to have loose teeth with braces. That is how they move. Get loose, move, then firm up.

If you can do not touch your loose teeth at all. If you keep messing with it it can delay progress! It is natural that teeth need to become loose to move, then they settle and firm up once they are at their final position.

Yup! Totally normal! Mine were super loose the first few weeks. I was freakin out! Could click them back and forth with my tongue but alas, 7.5mos into them, they're stiff as a board!

I noticed a loose front lower tooth over a week ago (next to the one that is to be straightened) and I was freaking out! Thankfully I did a search on it and found what others have already said. Normal during any braces. But dang! I'm afraid to bite down on anything with my front teeth!

Don't be afraid to bite down or to use your mouth like you would usually, but equally don't fiddle with them, push them with your tongue or keep moving them excessively.
Bonded retainers fitted upper and lower & braces removed at 19 months 2 weeks.

    Braces were:

    In-Ovation C on the top
    Damon on the bottom

It's the same for me. The one next to my front right tooth is really loose, but I will just have to brave it out as it is to be expected.

    Hi,

This is my first post, and I too have loose teeth. Mine are the top two front teeth.

I was at my ortho yesterday, and she said that I'm going to need refinements, which in itself is fair enough. But I'm terrified about having to give another dental impression! The last time I bit into the gooey mould material, it was a nightmare for the ortho to get it off. I felt like my teeth were being ripped out! Only to find that it needed re-doing as she hadn't used enough of the material.

Is it possible that giving another dental impression at this late stage, when my teeth are slightly loose, will cause them to loosen further, or even yank them out? Eeeeeeeeeeeek...
