Why Damon clear braces?

Hi all.

Well since this is the DAMON system section, I want to ask why people get the damon clear braces?
My ortho asked me to decide between the damn clear or invisalign.
He suggests the damon clear,although aesthetics are really important to me, especially because of my job.
I understand the damon clear don't look bad at ALL, but I think the invisalign are even less noticeable. Am I wrong?

Can I please get feedback?

Hi Cadet,

I currently have Damon clear and they are of course "less" noticeable than all metal brackets, but definitely still noticeable. Invisalign, however, are completely invisible and not noticeable at all. If you are concerned about aesthetics and your treatment/results can be achieved with just Invisalign, then go for it.

I would say if you want the ultimate results and fix your bite properly, then go with the Damon clear. More noticeable, but braces have more control over the movement of your teeth. I've had Invisalign before and were just used to straighten my teeth, not fix my bite. If you can achieve the same results with Invisalign then go for it. They are less noticeable but require self determination to keep the trays in 24/7.

Invisalign - I call it Visalign because they are not invisible in all cases. If any attachments are put on with InvisAlign, they become visible. Better yet, people won't get what's on your teeth and may wind up staring.

Braces get better results - aren't you more interested in the long-term outcome than the short-term appearance?

I'm wearing clear retainers now (Invisalign style) and let me tell you, they are NOT invisible from anything less than 2 metres away, plus my speech sounds distorted and it never did in braces...

Damons all the way! Everyone above is right! Invisalign doesn't fix 100% of issues that braces can. They also aren't clear when you get attachment 'buttons' on them. I'm a professional model and I still went with braces because the 1yr of them is SO worth the perfect outcome I will get from my braces. They're so amazing! Invisalign just gets more "hype" because they're still somewhat new BUT traditional braces have been around for decades, why? Because they work!! Love my braces
