Mouth Ulcers on New Braces! PLEASE HELP!

I got my Damon Q braces on 4/5 days ago. I had 4 molars extracted before they got put on (from each corner of mouth - second from back) and now where there is just a bit of wire connecting the back molar brackets to the rest of my teeth, my cheeks are getting completely wrecked! On one side I have a huge ulcer too.

Wax will not stay on this bit of wire which is really annoying as it works great on all the other rubbing brackets.

My teeth are not aligned enough for those Comfort Cover things yet I dont think but does anyone know ANY way of covering them at all!

    PLEASE HELP!

Theres a thin line (pardon the pun) between irritation that you'll get used to, and a wire that can't be tamed. LOL. I dealt with the wire pain for many days before the pain was too much. I finally went to my ortho who informed me that my teeth had shifted so quickly that the wire was already poking out of the back and needed to be clipped. I went in 6 times that 1st month I think- all for the same issue. Don't let it go that long like I did! Wax is really hard to get on that part- and normal irritation is normal- but if you can reach back there and feel the sharpness of the wire digging into your cheek, have it clipped. It only takes 5 seconds to do and it's free! Trust me, instant relief!!!

Hi Braceey - sorry to hear that you're in so much pain! Rinsing your mouth with warm water and salt can help. You can also get a topical cream from your chemist to help ulcers heal faster. Here's called Kenalog, but just ask your chemist for something to help relieve mouth ulcers.
    Good luck!
