LOL. You guys are lucky to get <50 trays. I just started and I have 96 upper and 19 lower! I win.
That being said, my teeth aren't that bad (better than 90% of those people shown in the pamphlets). But it's been on my mind for a while and time passes anyway.
Invisalign: 23/26U - 23/48L - 13 attachments
Blog: I want a new smile!
No typo. I hope the doc could find a way to adjust my treatment to shorten the treatment! I shall check next time... but if it can't, then whatever... time passes anyway. Four years from now I'll be regretting not having it done sooner (I already wish I had done it as a teen.)
I have an overbite, and my two front teeth is the main part I want fixed (ie. the worst). The rest look fine and I'm actually fine with, but I figured I'd get them fixed anyway. For my front teeth, think buck toothed but you won't really notice how bad they are until you see it from the side, or stare. I guess my teeth are so tight that everything needs to be shifted backwards slightly.
24 upper and lower. im on day 3!
crowding on upper and lower, what i found odd is that lower is much worse, i would have thought lower would have taken more aligners, but... whatever!
I have 37 trays for bottom and up, I'm at tray 9. I'm seeing improvements on my upper teeth, they were out like fangs before and now it's going inside slowly. I'm supposed to do around 18 months but I've been slacking off due to school and laziness so I'm thinking 2 years at least.
i've started the process at the end of August.. didn't get my impressions done til end of Sept b/c i had to replace my crown.. finally had my attachments and first set of trays in by the third week of Oct.
piece of advice, make sure you get all of your maintanence done (fillings, cleaning etc) before considering invisalign.
i was told that i'll have them on for 10 months.. which i'm a bit skeptical about this time frame.. 10 upper, 10 lower, but i've been having to change them out every two weeks.. it just doesn't add up unless i'm wearing the last few ones for more than just two weeks.
i don't see my DDS but once every six weeks for the next three sets of trays.
cleaning:
if your DDS office staff didn't give you any pointers on how to keep them clean, buy "Retainer Brite" cleaning tablets for your invisalign. my trays are a bit foggy due to dried saliva and sugar, and these dissolving tablets will clean them! i'm on Day Three and i love it!!! they're pretty affordable as well. a month suppy, on amazon, is a bit over 7 bucks... 90 day supply is right under 13 bucks (when i bought them a couple of days ago)..
flossing:
i definitely recommend the waterpik for everyone who doesn't like to floss. i love this little machine!! you could buy it on walmart.com for about 47+tax and free shipping, or waterpik.com for 55, but they have an instant coupon for $5.
i've had my invisalign for going on two months, i'm very OCD, and i wish that i did my research thoroughly BEFORE getting them so i could be prepped for all this.. but i guess better late than never..
I HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE!!!
I started the invisalign treatment about a week ago and it took me a couple days to get used to them. I have 38 trays for both upper and lower so basically for the next year and a half invisalign will rule my life. I just think about the end result and that is what keeps me optimistic!
Hi, new to the forum. I just got the buttons put in today and my first set of trays which I will put in tonight. Total trays 19 U/L. 12 buttons.
I have 29U/29L, and I'm currently at the end of tray #7 and will be putting on tray #8 tonight (excited to be moving ahead). I also have 9 buttons, had IPR done, and am using case II rubber bands for my overbite.

24 upper, 10 lower, 9 buttons.
I've been wearing my first tray for a week. I'm quite excited.
24 U 24 L (12 months) I have 8 attachments (4U 4L). I'm currently on day 4 of my Invisalign journey! (my 1st set of trays feel better than I anticipated!)
I have 56 U/L ... dont get it my ortho told me 18 months but thats more like two years and a half..... unless hopefully ill get to change them every week to shorten my process...idk im confused and not happy about it, he should have told me... only on tray 3
45 U/L for me + 16 attachment + 4 teeth extracted. I am a pretty complex case
I might also have to end with fixed braces for 6 months.
Surprisingly everything went pretty well so far. 4 teeth were extracted yesterday and I am already wearing my first set of aligners today with just some discomfort. Some minor lisp (especially with 'S' sounds) though![]()
20 months and I have no clue how many aligners. Maybe the orthodontist told me...but I forget!
Day 2 of starting 36 U/L with 8 attachments coming soon. I have a 12mm overbite that bothers me most. I was told it will improve by about 6 mm, and would have to have surgery to improve beyond that. No plans to do that. Hopefully I will be happy with the results.
Don't feel bad, you'll be happy once you're done - 2 years will go by really quick.
My Ortho sort of did the same thing... told me 2 years and when I went in for the review he told me I had 96 aligners. I did the math in my head near-instantly interjected with "wait a second, that's like four years! You told me two!"
During my last check up, he told me I can change trays a couple days earlier depending on "how it feels". Near the end of two weeks I notice it becoming quite easy to remove and I don't really feel the pressure them even after putting them in. --- Best check with your ortho first though!
I was told 1 year, 8 months.
It's been 3+ years as of this post. I've also worn braces for 3-4 months. I'd tell you the tray # but I don't remember as I've been through 2 refinements almost.
Almost 10 months - I have 19 trays at 2 weeks each.
I have 29 upper and lower...my orthodontist said 15 - 18 months. I want to be really good about wearing them and get them off ASAP as they are v. annoying! (currently on set 2)
I think invisalign takes 15 to 24 months .... One of my friend told me about this.
