LOL. You guys are lucky to get <50 trays. I just started and I have 96 upper and 19 lower! I win.

That being said, my teeth aren't that bad (better than 90% of those people shown in the pamphlets). But it's been on my mind for a while and time passes anyway.

96 upper?!?!?! Was that a typo?

96??? Wow!! That's by far the highest number of trays I've heard of.
If you don't mind my asking, what are the problems with that upper arch? Lower one seems to be pretty good in comparison (only 19 trays!)
    Mid-course correction: 15/15U Done! - 24/37L - 11 attachments

    Invisalign 1st round: 23/26U - 23/60L - 13 attachments. Stopped at tray 23.

No typo. I hope the doc could find a way to adjust my treatment to shorten the treatment! I shall check next time... but if it can't, then whatever... time passes anyway. Four years from now I'll be regretting not having it done sooner (I already wish I had done it as a teen.)

I have an overbite, and my two front teeth is the main part I want fixed (ie. the worst). The rest look fine and I'm actually fine with, but I figured I'd get them fixed anyway. For my front teeth, think buck toothed but you won't really notice how bad they are until you see it from the side, or stare. I guess my teeth are so tight that everything needs to be shifted backwards slightly.

Any special comments from your ortho? Mine said that 2 years is a very long time to predict with accuracy how teeth will move, and that I surely would need new moulds taken after 1 year or so (only for the lower arch, which is the one that needs 48 trays).
    What about you?
Add me to the list. I have 51 U & L. On 2 now. Attachments (there will be many) and tray 3 on 12/16/11.
My ortho. told me on a scale of 1-10 for degree of difficulty I am a 9!

24 upper and lower. im on day 3!

crowding on upper and lower, what i found odd is that lower is much worse, i would have thought lower would have taken more aligners, but... whatever!

Some of your upper trays towards the end could be passive, i.e. they don’t do anything but save you from wearing the same tray for a long period while your lower teeth are being treated.

I have 37 trays for bottom and up, I'm at tray 9. I'm seeing improvements on my upper teeth, they were out like fangs before and now it's going inside slowly. I'm supposed to do around 18 months but I've been slacking off due to school and laziness so I'm thinking 2 years at least.

    time-span

i've started the process at the end of August.. didn't get my impressions done til end of Sept b/c i had to replace my crown.. finally had my attachments and first set of trays in by the third week of Oct.

piece of advice, make sure you get all of your maintanence done (fillings, cleaning etc) before considering invisalign.

i was told that i'll have them on for 10 months.. which i'm a bit skeptical about this time frame.. 10 upper, 10 lower, but i've been having to change them out every two weeks.. it just doesn't add up unless i'm wearing the last few ones for more than just two weeks.

i don't see my DDS but once every six weeks for the next three sets of trays.

    cleaning:
if your DDS office staff didn't give you any pointers on how to keep them clean, buy "Retainer Brite" cleaning tablets for your invisalign. my trays are a bit foggy due to dried saliva and sugar, and these dissolving tablets will clean them! i'm on Day Three and i love it!!! they're pretty affordable as well. a month suppy, on amazon, is a bit over 7 bucks... 90 day supply is right under 13 bucks (when i bought them a couple of days ago)..

    flossing:
i definitely recommend the waterpik for everyone who doesn't like to floss. i love this little machine!! you could buy it on walmart.com for about 47+tax and free shipping, or waterpik.com for 55, but they have an instant coupon for $5.

i've had my invisalign for going on two months, i'm very OCD, and i wish that i did my research thoroughly BEFORE getting them so i could be prepped for all this.. but i guess better late than never..

    I HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE!!!

I started the invisalign treatment about a week ago and it took me a couple days to get used to them. I have 38 trays for both upper and lower so basically for the next year and a half invisalign will rule my life. I just think about the end result and that is what keeps me optimistic!

I have 29U/29L, and I'm currently at the end of tray #7 and will be putting on tray #8 tonight (excited to be moving ahead). I also have 9 buttons, had IPR done, and am using case II rubber bands for my overbite.

    45 U/L for me + 16 attachment + 4 teeth extracted. I am a pretty complex case

I might also have to end with fixed braces for 6 months.

Surprisingly everything went pretty well so far. 4 teeth were extracted yesterday and I am already wearing my first set of aligners today with just some discomfort. Some minor lisp (especially with 'S' sounds) though :braces:

Day 2 of starting 36 U/L with 8 attachments coming soon. I have a 12mm overbite that bothers me most. I was told it will improve by about 6 mm, and would have to have surgery to improve beyond that. No plans to do that. Hopefully I will be happy with the results.

Don't feel bad, you'll be happy once you're done - 2 years will go by really quick.

My Ortho sort of did the same thing... told me 2 years and when I went in for the review he told me I had 96 aligners. I did the math in my head near-instantly interjected with "wait a second, that's like four years! You told me two!"

During my last check up, he told me I can change trays a couple days earlier depending on "how it feels". Near the end of two weeks I notice it becoming quite easy to remove and I don't really feel the pressure them even after putting them in. --- Best check with your ortho first though!

    I was told 1 year, 8 months.

It's been 3+ years as of this post. I've also worn braces for 3-4 months. I'd tell you the tray # but I don't remember as I've been through 2 refinements almost.

I'm scheduled to wear the trays for 50 weeks. I have 25 uppers and 17 lowers. I thought I would have more based on the amount of space that i have to close.

23 uppers and 16 lowers. I just started last week and the estimate was 11-16 months. 11 months if everything goes smoothly and I switch out the trays every two weeks as planned. Here's hoping to 11 months!

I used invisalign g4 for my anterior open bite. I have seen results that I am so happy with so far. Invisalign is clear, no one notices it, you can take it out to eat and brush. It's so much better than traditional braces and you will save a lot of money vs jaw surgery.

If you want proof, I have pictures of my progress on my blog. Bear in mind that I am still undergoing treatment. I am the beginning stages, and have seen results already. You can see the pictures on my blog. Link below.

    Invisalign For Anterior Open Bite

Time of treatment: Approx 1 year

I have 21 U/L with 4 buttons and 9 attachments. Currently I'm on the 5th set of trays, going in for my sixth set in a week. My dentist says that treatment should take between 18 and 22 months, but I'm hoping that it'll end sooner than that. I have 6 months of retainers following the treatment, so we'll see.

I have 25 - I'm eking to the end of phase I, but there's bound to be more because 2 teeth have already gone wrong, one far back molar which doesn't affect tray fit, and one side tooth which was realeased from it's attachment...hope is that is still moves somewhat from the aligner pressure alone. I just want to get to the end of this round with no IPR and no broken/unfitting trays.

Well, I had thought I was going to break records with 56 U, 56L aligners, but see that somebody has nearly doubled me! I get my first aligner and 8 attachments fitted on Thursday 22 November. I am not sure whether I am nervous or relieved to finally do something about my teeth. Deposit paid and no going back.

I'm on my second tray. Unfortunately It cracked on the same place the 1st one did. My orthodontist told me that it's no problem, so I'll just wear it until my third tray. I'll try a new approach of taking them out so they won't break.

I'd love to see pics of your guys teeth that are doing 40+ aligners. I didn't think my teeth were that great, including an open bite and my plan shows full correction in 15 trays.

I have 30 upper and lower, and with the use of acceledent one tray per week, so hopefully we are looking a 10 months total including refinements (which are extra trays that your doctor may suggest on completion of your inital planned treatment, to achieve the perfect result). I will be doing refinements if he recommends.

I just started the first of 32 upper and 35 lower trays on 2/20/13. I should be finished by the end of June, 2014. I'm really interested in the Acceledent product to speed up the process - a salesperson from the company is supposed to get in touch with my orthodontist this week. Hopefully my orthodontist is optimistic about it.
