braces & MRI's

Are there braces & brackets that are compatible for those that require MRI's of the head. My young son is not a candidate for the removable braces. What about ceramic braces and brackets?? I hear that you only need to take a wire off and not brackets. I cant have metal braces removed three times a year before the MRI's. Right know there is discussion of putting braces on his 6 year molars and his two front teeth to try to correct an overbite that has been effecting his speech a little and there are concerns that if he fell or was hit in the mouth that his protruding front teeth would be more prone to chipping. Any suggestions??

In MOST cases the MRI will be done with the braces on and the doctor will recommend you do it again with the braces off, but doctors have told me that the braces do not interfere with major results such as tumors and such when doing scans. As long as you insurance covers it, i would get it now and then get it again if you are concerned there by an issue when we gets them off.
