wire removal necessary for bracket placement?

Is wire removal neccesary for placing on a new bracket? I am wondering this because my left central bracket needs to be put on and im wondering if my ortho will have to take off the wire (which last time caused me much pain.

ya if it is in a central area, the wire needs to come out... should be painful though. tell the ortho to go easy.
