Question Retainer discomfort and teeth misalignment

Hi,

I recently received my retainers and it has caused me much problems ever since. I have gone back to the dental clinic numerous times to adjust my retainers as it was too tight and painful. The retainers had caused white indentations and silver scratches on my teeth. After which the doctor loosen my retainers and claimed that the indentation was not due to the extremely tight retainers but had been there all along. Can extremely tight retainers cause indentations and scratches?

Even though my retainers are now loose, it is still uncomfortable and does not fit my teeth perfectly (especially my lower retainer). There is a gap between the plastic part of the retainers and the back of my teeth. Should my retainers fit perfectly? Furthermore the centre line of my teeth is not aligned. If I were to bite my teeth together subconsciously the upper teeth would move slightly to the right. Is this misalignment correctable if I were to put on braces once again?

Lastly there is gap between my molar and my gums where food particles always gets stuck. Is this normal?
