braces with the worlds most embarasing Headgear

Gettin the most embarasing braces and headgear in the world next week.

The braces arn't the embarasing thing. Its the fact that my orthadontist said i need to wear headgear aswell. Ive seen some of the headgear he fits peaple with and beleve you me it looks like something out of a sci fi move. The wort part is he dosent trust peaple with the headgear so he wires it in. So bottom line I am goin to be walkin around with a helmet type thing on with the bits that connect to your uper teeth going up to the top of my head and the bottom row bits connectin to the top of my kneck. I will be a victim for every bully in scholl for the 3 years i have the head gear for buy after that it souldent be so bad.

Pelase if anyone has any advice plese tell me how to survive the 3 years.

Today my mother receved a call from the orthodontist for me getting the metal today she was al for it.

She marched me down to the orthodontists and told me that she would pick me up at 3. Whent he Doctor called me in he stuck the brackets onto my teeth and then he told me to put on the cap thing. I put it on so next he put hte arch wire in and then got some hooks and put some wires on the end wihout the hook and glued more wires onto the wire he just put on the hooks. He then glued all of the new wires each bracket of my braces and done the same for the bottom row aswell. Then he told me to atahc the hooks to the cap by puttig them through the holes and locking them into posision.

He told me i was all done and gave me a mirror. As soon as i saw my self i birst into tears because i was once one of the most butiful girls in my year and now i am just a freak. As soon as i steped out of the Orthodontists peaple started to stear at me.

Hang in there. I should have my braces on by the middle of January. I will probably be like you and burst into tears once I see them actually on my teeth and I am much older than you! Just think in the long run you will have a beautiful smile!

I got braces , and i was complaing about my smile and sayin how bad they will look, but headgear yeah a no sounds very scary (thankfully i dont need it) Just keep thinking to yourself once you get them out your gonna have a beautiful smile ! where i live (uk) i have seen people with head gear (a man) and well no one takes the mic out of him.. so if they take the mic hun simply IGNORE THEM... PATHETIC losers... and if you feel like 'OMG' i look like a freak, dont ... because wat looks more 'FREAKY' is crooked teeth when your older (unless you decide you want treatment) just keep ignoring people... Ur beautiful no matter what people say and no -one and i mean NO ONE ! ca put you down, ur just like any beauiful person with out head gear... it will be gone in 3 years ! just keep looking on the bright side, By the way hun how old are ya now?

yeah i just got braces on today and i've wanted them my whole life! (i'm 18 now). Well when I saw my mouth full of metal I wanted to barf but then my sis said that it's like I have a grill!! so that made me laugh and i'll just have to face the whole school tomorrow (i'm a senior in high school btw so thats kinda bad!) dont worry about the headgear. it will correct all your problems. and maybe in a year he will only make you wear it at night!

Aww. I would hate to have headgear. My orthodontist has mentioned nothing about it, so I thinK I am in the clear. Of course, I have to have several teeth pulled, and have this tooth moved that will come out of the roof of my mouth if it isn't fixed. So, I have to go to the periodontist too.

If people bug you about your headgear, either kick them (nah just kidding ), or just tell them go buzz off and stop bothering people. After awhile, people will forget you have it. My friend had to have head gear, and after like the first week, we forgot she had it XD

I went to my orthodontist for a check up today and he said that i will be geting a facemask next week. So i will be wearing my headgear helmet and a fasemask at the same time. He said normaily peaple have elastics connected to the headgear but in my case he will be replacing the elastics with coil springs so i cant take it off. I didnt thnk it was possible to have 2 different types of headgear at the same time. I will look like even more of a freak than i do now since i am the only girl in school who has to wear headgear all the time. He also said that i sould cut my hair short because it will be extremely uncomfertale with my hair the way it's now while waring the facemask. my life is getting more humiliating every day. The only reason i have not changed my orthodontist is because he is the only one in the area where i live and the colsest one besides him is in a small vilage about 20 miles outside of newcastle

Well, could you go to the one that is 20 miles away? With my orthodontist, he has two offices, which he alternates between, so sometimes I go to the one that isn't in my hometown, and sometimes I go to the one that is. I don't think 20 miles is that bad.
