Gettin' braces again
I'm 27 and I had them when I was 10-12. When I was first treated, we went to a top notch guy, but I cried when they said it was gonna be 3 years. So, we found a guy that said 2 years. Of course, he cut corners and messed up. From the instant they came off, my bite still didn't fit right. However, I was so relieved to be out of them and so young to not really know what was up. So, now I'm gonna get them again to stop the grinding at night.
Has anyone ever heard of going back to an ortho and recovering some money based on a botched job? |

Had you expressed displeasure in the treatment at the time, maybe, but 15 years later, probably not |

This illustrates why I always advise people to ask a lot of questions if they seek different opinions, because if one orthodontist is offering to do the job a lot cheaper, or a lot faster, or without some (to the patient) undesirable aspect to treatment, then there's a chance that his treatment plan may be one that will bring results that are less stable, or less aesthetically pleasing, or that make a compromise in some other way compared to the slower, more expensive, or less desirable (to the patient) treatment plan. Of course no 10 year old is going to think that way!

Great you've decided to have your bite sorted HeadJam and this time you're confident that you've choosen the person best suited to do this job for you.
Many people are treated in two years, in fact many are treated in less than two years, but there are always people who's treatment takes longer. Moving teeth is an individual process and time frames are something that are not definite, but are suggested treatment times. All the best with your treatment! |
