Oops?
I had upper clear braces put on two months ago, and my ortho told me that I would need to let my bite plate correct my bite before putting on bottom clear braces in order to avoid enamel wear or chipping.
Two weeks ago, at my first adjustment he told me the bite plate was working really well, and that I should be all set to put them on at my next adjustment.
Today I went in to just have metal braces put on the bottom because I didn't want to wait any longer to get started. The assistant had started putting metal on, and the ortho (probably not remembering the situation) looked at the screen and must have gotten my original wishes of clear brackets confused with what they were doing today, and had her put clear on instead. Meanwhile, I had that plastic device in and couldn't say a word and didn't know which was which when they were referring to clear vs. metal. I thought she was putting on clear originally, and then he had her change to metal.
I love the way they look, and I'm only about a month early so I figured I would be okay. Now however, I'm worried that I might damage my teeth..do you think I'll still be okay? Are there any precautions I can take? I was thinking about wearing wax on the front while I sleep and do most of my grinding.
