Are braces necessary?

I have been thinking of this for quite a long time now...
My condition should be known as a overbite and I see a lot of people with that. I am quite comfortable with my teeth and don't have any problems even when all 4 of my wisdom teeth have grown.

I guess that it really would depend how bad your overbite is? I would say though that if it doesn't bother you then I would not bother with braces. I have to say though that I never regret having had mine and the confidence that I have gained with my perfect smile.

You know I have always been self conscious about my smile. My teeth are not crooked, but the have spaces between them. I think I get it from my father’s side of the family because all of us have the same spaces. I would love nothing more than to have nice straight teeth. I would definitely smile more.

Well you would have to ask an orthodontist to acess your certain situation and see if the braces will correct any imperfections. If an orthodontist feels that braces are necessary then I would say get them, it really is not that bad.

Check with your dentist to see what he or she recommends. They will send you to an orthodontist to discuss your situation. Some overbites do not need to be corrected and others do. Some are strictly esthetic while others are done to align the entire jaw and prevent further jaw problems down the road. Best thing to do is check with a professional.

Everyone's needs are different for sure. Just because you have an overbite doesn't necessarily mean that you NEED braces. They may be able to help you out in a different way, without the braces. Check with your dentist and see what they recommend you to do. It's best to keep your mouth in the best condition possible under the direction of a professional.

If you are happy with your teeth I would say they aren't necessary, but I'm not a dentist. I think sometimes it's really each persons preference, if they aren't having any problems with their teeth, and they are comfortable with the way their teeth look I see no reason to get them.

In some cases they are necessary it depends on whether there is a lot of overcrowding and the way your teeth are coming in. If your dentist does not think, it is a necessity and your happy then don't worry about braces.
