The initial soreness!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and just got braces yesterday! At the moment biting down on food such as rolls and stuff like that is really hurting me.Does this initial pain lessen as I have them on longer?

Also my mouth is getting cut near the back. Does anyone have any advice on how to reduce this friction??

Cheers

Oh yeah it will lessen. But then be ready for every time you go get them tightened, they will be sore again. It should be back to normal after a couple of days. When I had mine they never hurt more than that.

With my braces I have had a lot of pain too. Every time I get the bands tightened I have to eat soup. It is no fun and I am ready to get these things off.

I got my braces tighted once.

I was still tender they said. It was so painful that I started swearing, having a cold sweat - feet, arms, hands; arching my back and making movements to grab the dentists arms to pull them away. Felt like the tooth could pop right out any second!

about a day later or so you go back to not feeling it though until you try to chew.

Time for an update!

I've had my braces for roughly 2months at this stage and am seeing my teeth straighten up in front of my very eyes! The "initial soreness" went away after 3 days or so and even when I get them tightened it doesn't really hurt at all.

The cutting on the inside of the mouth has completely stopped and I have no problems at all with my braces. They are deffo worth getting!

Get through the first 2 weeks and you'll be fine,I'll update again in a month and post some pictures from when I started to where I am now
