meanest ortho ever!!!

I have a really mean ortho! He hates me because of my race (more than one, 3 in fact) . If you want to know, just PM me. He also hates my accent. I am from Chicago, see my nickname. He hates my appearance (black hair, medium skin tone, brown eyes). Since I can't dye my hair and I'm afraid of putting anything in my eyes, I'm stuck with my looks. But, I can change my accent. I decided to imitate a Canadian accent. He onetime put me in a headlock and brushed my teeth really hard, but it didn't hurt. My teeth aren't that crooked. I will post a picture eventually. I jump when he is looking inside my mouth. My bite isn't horrible, it might need to be fixed a little bit.
My mom won't let me change othos.
What can you tell me that will convince my mom?
Help me!
Mariah

Put you in a headlock and is racist? This is enough not only to leave his practice but to pursue legal action. However maybe you are exagerating? Either way I would transfer to a different ortho. Find a friend who has braces and find out who they are using and then make the switch. Your doctor should treat you as if he is lucky toyou have you as a patient, after all you are paying him!

Thank you so much for the advice! I will pursue some legal action even though he put me in a headlock in May 2007. (5 months ago). I will talk to my grandparents about this and get their opinions.
I did file a ripoff report and some patients (actually former patients of his), said that he is a great doctor and would never do that to them. Easy for them to say, they do not have a mixed racial background, like I do. So he treats them better.
I will see if I can talk to my grandparents about this, maybe even my cousins (who are 13 and 1 month).

Cool Update 27-3-08

Hi! I am so much more optimistic and not so childish about this process now. Here is what happened:
My parents got me away from that evil ortho. The sweet part is that I didn't have an adjustment for 3 months so that means no pain! but it might delay treatment, which it will, but only by one month, not bad! Maybe there will be no delay gotta be Postive, right?
I ended up moving to Canada (I wish )
So the differences between the 2 orthos
Old one: mean, pushy, techniques are older, more adjustments, nothing high tech, shorter wait, not much diversity in patients
New one: nice , not pushy, newer techniques, less adjustments, more high tech, nicer office, longer wait, more diversity in patients, doesn't care about my accent

Great you've maturing Mariah and are happy with your new orthodontist.

Your teeth are looking great, so hopefully your new ortho will finish the job off well! Good luck!
