Need help, Big Question! Can't afford to continue treatment.
Hey guys,
I'm about 6 months into my treatment. Unfortunately I've not gone to the orthadantist in 4 motnhs now because I cannot afford my monthly payments. Unfortunately my job also does not provide me with dental insurance. I plan to make an appointment so I can talk to my Orthadantist this week. I'm thinking of having my braces removed for now and maybe waiting a couple more years down the line. I'm wondering.. would this ruin the treatment I've had badly? Would it be not as big a deal and I could jsut continue treatment where I left off down the line? Does anyone know if I could possibly get a retainer to retain the treatment I've had thus far? I've invested a few hundred already in oral surgery. To have my wisdom teeth removed and also for having 4 teeth in the back removed as I had crowding in my teeth. Keep in my mind that my teeth were never that badly mis-shapen. Not perfect, which is what I want eventually, but it's not priority for me as much as paying off a loan is and saving up to move to study abroad is. Obviously the final decision will come after I've talked to my Orthadantist, but I was hoping on getting some advise before going to speak with her. Thanks |

Do you knoow the answer to any of my questions?
Using a credit card is completely and utterly out of the question, I'm sorry. I'm not putting myself into more depth. Secondly, I forgot to mention that I will be moving far away in less than a year. Hang in there or not, It would be very hard to manage.. Please answer my questions if you know. Thanks. |

If you are moving, you can always transfer ortho's, however if you dont have the cash on hand, than you can stop your treatment and do it once you do...its sad to see someone start and then have to stop, but you do what you got to do.
