whitening gel

Is anyone using whitening gel with their invisalign? My ortho gave me 2 syringes full. I haven't used it yet b/c my mouth still seems very saliva filled (sorry for the image ) and I don't want to swallow a bunch of it. But if you used it, how much did you use at a time (or how long did a syringe last you) It says not to use longer than 2 weeks and I need to do it before 4 weeks is up since I'll get my attachments then. Just wondering (again!)

You'll be amazed at how little of the gel you need, because when you put the aligners on there's very little space for the gel. It squishes out. I usually did it all night, and my teeth were cold sensitive for a couple hours the next morning. But they were white.

In fact, I still have some of my second syringe left after two years. I only need to whiten once every few months, so it goes a long time.

I would recommend appropriate caution using these strong bleaching products - I don't think those with a high peroxide concentration are intended to be left on for hours at a time like this.

I wonder if its ok to do it once a day for an hour?

I think its weird that the directions say that you can use the gel overnight, or twice a day for 30 minutes each time, with at least an hour in between. I'd rather do it once a day for an hour and then just be done with it instead of having to keep taking then off and on.

The stuff I was given is a gel that you put into the braces. Kinda like the whitening trays you can buy. I'm almost done with it. I just changed my aligners on Monday night and the first couple of days are too tight to use the gel. It makes my teeth hurt too much. But I have to finish it off before I get my attachments in a couple of weeks.

My dentist gave me whitening gel because my attachments were stained (bad coffee habit, unable to give up entirely) but was very clear that I shouldn't leave it on for more than 2 hours max. I would recommend getting very specific advice before using a product like this.
