I am a new invisalign user (2 weeks) and I am ready for my 2nd tray tomorrow. I did not ask the dentist this but is it always 2 weeks between each tray? My first 2 weeks have been typical of all the other posters on this board although I really did not have any pain with them. I did feel some slight pressure for a couple of days and then it went away.
My main problem is talking with them, it is getting better but still not where it should be. I have been averaging about 21 hours a day with them in.
What are other people using to clean them with? I tried the toothbrush and toothpaste but they still get pretty bad after 6 hours or so in your mouth.
Your dentist will tell you when to change them. Mine is typically 2 weeks, but she might have me keep one in for an extra week if need be. The office calls my house and leaves a message when I'm supposed to change them.
I just brush them, sometimes I'll soak 'em in Listerine in the morning, if I have a few extra minutes, but I just brush 'em. Of course, I eat 3 meals a day, so the only time they are in for that long is overnight, so it's not too bad.
I've been taking them out and brushing between lunch and dinner and then again between dinner and bedtime. If not, I feel like my mouth is slimy. Ick!
My dentist gave me a Survival-32 Interspace brush to clean mine with - works fine with just cold water.

Thanks, X. Looks like a great tool. I'm on my retainers now, so I don't get a new/fresh tray every two weeks. These retainers can get nasty, and it's tough to get into the tight spaces (I use my 6-year-old son's Batman brush because it's nice and small. I just hope he hasn't done anything unusual with it).
Looks like this Interspace brush does the trick.
Im on my 7th tray and everything is going good. My dentist is making me wear mine for 3 weeks at a time. They only hurt after they get changed, but I usually change them at night. I soak mine in listerine too, or sometimes peroxide if I dont have any listerine and then use my toothbrush to wash them...it hasnt damaged them or anything and mine get really clean. I can talk pretty good with them in too, but I do lisp certain letters, like F & S, or rhyming letters/words, so I have to repeat sometimes, but most of the time, my speech is pretty good. I can tell my teeth have changed, Im def biting differently. So far its been good
