Filling in invisalign

Hi everyone, I am thinking about getting invisalign.
Thing is that I recently had a tooth extracted, my dentist says that he can put a filling where the tooth used to be to substitute.
Has anyone been through this or heard of it? Also will it affect the success rate?

I had four teeth extracted to make room for my crowded teeth. I'm not sure how the spaces are going to fill, because I don't believe they will completely fill with my existing teeth.

I wouldn't think you would want to put anything in there until the teeth are all moved, since a filling, or whatever they put there, isn't going to respond the same way as regular teeth (I wouldn't think).

Are you speaking about getting an implant once you're done with orthodontia (as Brenda says, it would have to be after treatment, as unlike normal teeth, implants cannot be moved orthodontically) or are you talking about putting something in the Invisalign trays to disguise the missing tooth during treatment?

Either way, this sounds like it might not be the most straightforward case, and I'd strongly advise you to seek a second opinion - from an orthodontist, rather than a dentist who does a bit of orthodontia "on the side" - before proceeding.
