    Invisalign express or regular?

    Looking for some help here,

I just got my invisaligns today. I have 10 sets of aligners for top and bottom. I just found out online that is the common treatment for invisalign express. I specifically told my dentist that I do not want invisalign express, I want regular invisalign. My dentist said invisalign determines if I go with express or not and that it isn't up to him, he charged me $3,500. Today he said I will have to come in every 3 weeks, for a total of about 8 months.

Is that a normal invisalign treatment, or is that definitely an express treatment? Are there certain cases which regular invisalign only requires 10 retainers?

I need to know if I am getting ripped off, I hope I haven't overpaid Thanks for your help everyone!

First off, normally with Invisalign you change your aligner every 2 weeks, which would only mean 5 months for you given the 10 aligners needed. Unsure why you're being asked to do it in 3 week intervals..

I always believed the difference between Full Invisalign and express to be the amount of time required for treatment, and the fact that express doesn't always offer the refinement period after your treatment. If you were unhappy with the results after the 10 trays you would then have to pay again to refine your teeth. I would confirm this with your orthodontist though, as some might offer it.

Thanks for the quick reply. The dentist said that after the treatment was complete if something is not right he may have to extra some extra aligners, at no cost to me. He is also giving me a retainer after the treatment.

With this information, does it sound likely that I am indeed receiving the regular treatment?

Again express normally refers to the time it takes, so because you're only having 10 aligners, it could well be that you're on the express treatment. But if you're having the aftercare and retainers for the cost, then I think you're okay.

You should write a list of your concerns and speak with your Orthodontist really to clarify everything you're receiving as part of your treatment

I don't believe there's any difference in the treatment between Express and Regular - it's just the pricing strategy and what's included in the costs.

My dentist told me that Express does NOT include any refinements in the upfront costs, so you're under the regular plan if you're getting "no cost" adjustments.

i paid $5k for my invisalines (20 trays) so the price you are getting is not a bad deal at all.
