I'm just wondering how long it took before you started to notice your teeth shifting...

I started seeing results on my third tray and so did my friends/family. I definetely felt my teeth shifting on the first tray, but didn't really notice any improvements for a couple months.
For me not until a couple of months had passed.
I am now on the 12th tray, and I only see a slight change.
But I know from the clincheck movie that the real magic doesn't happen until the last 4-5 trays (of a total 25).
I have crowded teeth which has resulted in two of my front teeth being rotated. So most of the trays are just for making more space (pulling the other teeth further back/widen the arch), and then the crooked front teeth will be pushed in their rightful place at the end!
So it really depends on the case
Sky - AlignTech make a computerised model of how the teeth will be moved. Your doc can share with you an animated sequence that shows that movement.
I'm on Tray 4 and I've noticed my jaw widening and my 2 front teeth are starting to slowly rotate straight. Thanks for the input.

I'm on my 4th tray, it feels like my teeth are moving, but I see nothing different. I have a cross bite on my right K9.
i was also going to ask this question, im only on my first trays so im excited to dfind out when i will start to see the difference.
I first started noticing a difference after about 2 months, so I guess about set 7 or 8. Further changes were noticeable after similar periods. Every couple of months you'll see more and more improvement. Checking every day or week is disheartening though, as the movements are small with each set.
I can see a lot of movement in my clincheck, but none in my mouth. However, my teeth don't mesh together how they used to- in fact at the moment when I close my mouth only one tooth touches a bottom one, which is a very strange feeling.
Each time I put in a new tray I compare it to number 1. I am currently on tray 4 and although I can't see any difference if I hold them next to each other, I have noticed that if I draw a line on a piece of paper and place the back molars of the tray lined up with it, I can detect already that the shape of my arches has changed. Nobody else would ever know though.

I didn't notice any movement until tray 8. I wore my trays for 3 weeks for the first couple sets, then went to 2 weeks each. It is disheartening when you can't tell movement.
i'm on trays 6 and have noticed a vast improvement at the bottom, i'll post pictures in my blog later today. Top is looking worse just now I think.
I am now on set 5 and was posting some comparison pictures on my blog of my teeth pre Invisalign and now and bingo! Finally I think there is a very subtle difference. It is such a boost, to actually see some results.

Weeyin and hollywood offer good advice. Take pictures every few weeks and you can compare those. You're never going to see change ona day to day basis, as it is too small for your eyes to see. But when you compare what's been achieved over a period of a few weeks, by looking back at photos, you begin to realise how much is going on.

As it says on the main Bracesreview.com page, always consult a qualified orthodontist, dentist, or medical professional with questions you may have.
You are extremely lucky if your treatment comes out to exactly 2 weeks per tray. My ortho won't schedule me for 6 weeks out, he makes me do 7 or 8. I'm guessing to make sure I have plenty of time for the 3 sets of trays that he gives me at once. Plus, I'm having to wear tray 3 for 5wks because of having the attachments put on with this tray. I guess he's just very careful.
We give our patients two sets of aligners and place attachments at stage 3. Routinely our patients comment that they have started to see a difference in their teeth. Not all movement happens in the front of your mouth, so there may be changes happening in the posterior, where others won't notice, during the initial stages.
I just put on my refinement aligners this weekend and I can definitely feel a change in my bite and correction of the rotation. Then again, being an orthodontist, I notice even the slightest rotations and malalignment.
See the video of me inserting my aligners on the blog below.

I have just come back from my appointment with my ortho and have just put in tray 11. He was very pleased with how my teeth are going and had my initial pictures up on the computer while I was there. I am so excited that I can see a real change in my teeth, especially my bottom ones which should be finished around August.
I don't have to go back for 8 weeks now as I don't have to have any IPR done. I have already ripped open my 14th aligner package though to have a look (everyone does this I am sure) It is just great to see changes.
Yep, lizzyM I do that too! The second I get home I have set #1 out comparing them with my latest sets. Every time it gets a little bit more exciting.
