    Nestle Pure Life flavored water

Has anyone drank this with their aligners in? It's clear and flavored with Splenda, not sugar, so I assume it would be fine. Any thoughts??

    Thanks!

Please don't, as drinks held against your teeth, as will be the case with aligners, can cause damage. Sugar and acid can cause enamel corrosion and that would be such a shame after having ortho treatment.

Eating and drinking are more challenging with invisalign treatment, but you will learn how to adjust!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I think these drinks are citrus flavoured - orange and/or lemon, right? Citrus - citric acid - is rather damaging to the enamel. So I'd tend to think these drinks probably wouldn't be a good idea with aligners in place.

I don't know that particular drink, but my ortho was very specific about ONLY water with your aligners in. I would probably just stick to that for now, and ask your ortho at your next appointment.

I absolutely HATE water. I spend most of my life dehydrated.

I hate plain water too and have been putting less than a teaspoon full of sugar free juice into a 500ml water bottle just to give it the tiniest hint of a taste, its doesnt even colour the water. I prob shouldn't do this really but its the only way to take the metallic taste away from tap water....now i know why my cats like running water, static water tastes awful after a few hours. eurgh! And i suppose i am brushing a lot more often.

Weeyin, have you tried filtered water? It makes a world of difference. Our tap water at home is atrocious, but we have a fridge that filters and chills the water, for through the door delivery. So bothered am I by our tap water that we now have a Pur water filter that can be screwed onto the tap in the kitchen sink (like the one here: PUR Water Filter Systems: Healthy Water, Healthy You) - it lives in a cupboard most of the time, but is brought out and used whenever our power goes out for more than a few hours. Another alternative to the filters you mount on the tap are those filter jugs, such as this one: BRITA | Household | Jugs | Product Details.

Thanks for the advise zoso. My office is in the city centre of Glasgow and the water in the building is an odd colour to look at let alone to drink, we have the filter machines on it but its still a bit odd.... have yet to see the filters being changed! I have a filter and water dispenser built into the fridge at home and that does help a bit, not quite as good as a half teaspoon of "Robinsons" I'm missing my fizzy drinks all day soooooo much more than the snacking, i'm dreaming about irn bru and coke - sad eh?!

Where I work, the same company that runs the cafeterias (where they happen to sell bottled water) is also responsible for maintaining the filters in the water coolers. The water in the coolers in the building where I used to have my office always tasted a little off, and I have to say that I did wonder if it wasn't on purpose

I suspect that the small amount of Robinsons you're adding might be OK (unless it's a concentrate, like the Barley Water) but you may want to rinse to be on the safe side. I've also heard of others adding just a small splash of grape juice to their water to make it more palatable.

On the whole, I have to admit that those of us who happen to enjoy and have ready access to decent water are at an advantage in this whole braces business!

By the way: I miss Irn Bru. Apparently girder-based soft drinks can't be imported to this country.
