Question about liners and your gums

Hi everyone. I'm on my first set of liners and had a question.

The lower aligner seems to press into the gum line of my lower front teeth, such that when I take the aligner out, you can see an indentation in the gums where it had pressed into it. The gums are also noticeably paler than areas that weren't under the liner. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned?

I've already gone in to have my lowers trimmed once (and then filed them down even more myself after!) because one part had caused some irritation and a small sore on the gums. Not sure if this is leading towards the same thing, or if it's just "normal" pressure.

My non-professional opinion is that it seems like it might be bad for your gums to have constant stress on them like this. Why not give your ortho a call and see what he thinks.
I am not a dental professional.

As it says on the main Bracesreview.com page, always consult a qualified orthodontist, dentist, or medical professional with questions you may have.

I'd be careful about the pressure on your gums. I got a sore from irritation/pressure and it caused some mild recession which I don't think ever grew back (although I can't remember 100% how the gum was before...).

Yep, I agree, this doesn't sound right to me. I would call your orthodontist.

Please phone your orthodontist and explain what's happening to your gum area. Damage to the gums is sometimes not able to be reversed, so I don't think it's worth risking, without a professional checking.

    Good luck!
