    Loose teeth

    Hello everyone!

I have been away on holiday and I have noticed that my two teeth that had needed to be moved (on either side of two front teeth) are now quite loose. I have never experienced this before I took a grip on them and could see them moving front to back. i did this when i realized that while i was eating I can actually feel them moving. Is this normal? Also, I have been very anal about the waiting to brush and floss thing, waiting a half hour after eating to do so because I do not want to wear the enamel. That said, I can sometimes have the aligners out up to an hour and half per meal. Could my teeth be moving back and then i strangle them again putting the trays back in. i.e. back and forth, back and forth movement?
    thanks everyone!

Mommamorin teeth need to be loose to move, but whether the amount of 'looseness' is normal for your teeth or not is something only a professional could answer. If you're concerned about it, I recommend you give your ortho a call. I can remember when I had some major moving going on, some of my teeth could be moved with my tongue. They didn't move easily, but I could see a little movement when I looked in a mirror, but it felt like heaps more when my tongue pushed them.

Are you wearing your aligners for the correct number of hours a day? If so, I doubt your care taken after meals will affect how your teeth move. If your teeth look clean, and you've rinsed them vigorously with water, I don't see any reason why your aligners can't be replaced for the time it will take to get to 30 minutes since your last mouthful of food. Then give both your teeth and aligners a good clean. Maybe this is something else you need to discuss with your ortho.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

oh man i would definitely call your ortho ASAP. I would totally freak out if i saw my tooth move. *knock on wood* but i should probably be expecting it since my next few trays are going to cause a lot of movement. I dont know why when i put new trays on and my Teeth wake up really sore, as i take them off to eat they hurt soo bad taking off i get scared my teeth are going to come off

let us know what your orthodontist says though good luck
