how long to wait before refinements

    Hey guys,

I will be on my last aligner in just a few days and was wondering...
for those of you who have completed and are now in refinements, how long in between did you wait? I have an appointment on my last day of wearing the last aligner and I will be insisting on refinements. Is that too soon to have the molds taken? Should I wait a week or so longer for extra movement in case there is any? My thinking is perhaps there will be more movement and then the 1st refinement tray may not fit properly.

    thanks everyone...

They should be able to take molds then. Just keep wearing aligners until the new ones come in. You don't want teeth to move back between taking the mold and the new aligners arriving. Good Luck.

I'm getting my molds done before I'm finished with the last set of trays (note - call ortho and change appointment).

I am slightly concerned that the first set of refinement trays will be excessively tight, because I know my teeth are going to move before the refinement trays arrive, but that's OK

havingitdoneintheuk, i have a question, lol. How long is a fortnight. (silly american)
I have read all these medieval stories which always talk about a fortnight. Loved them so much I went to Scotland to see all the castles that were in the books but never did ask how long it is.

In New Zealand, Fiji and Australia ... the term fortnight refers to - two weeks duration.

    1 fortnight = 14 days

The fortnight is a unit of time equivalent to fourteen days. The word derives from the Old English feorwertyne niht, meaning "fourteen nights".
    The Concise Oxford Dictionary, 5th Edition, 1964, p. 480

Do you use any word to describe this period of time mommamorin?

Haha, glad that one is cleared up! Tell you what the weather here at the mo is anything but romantic - RAIN RAIN RAIN how miserable!

Had my impressions taken yesterday and should have my new ones in 3 weeks. Nice to be able to remove the aligners much easier without the attachments, although the temptation to scoff will be greater!

yayyyyyyyy havingitdoneintheuk, no more attachments! I savor the day. I have found attachments or not in the past few weeks I have been very lax on putting my aligners back in right away. Im lucky if I have them in 20 hours. My bad.

I know, my teeth looked huge and nice and white without the horrible blobs that were going a nice shade of biege!

I shall make the most of these 3 weeks as I will definately be having some, if not all, the attachments back on, dammit!

Ooh naughty momma, give yourself a slap and get them back in quick to ensure you get that big grin you are after!!!
