New guy question about taking pictures

    Here is my intro thread.

    New guy

How do you guys take pictures and make them look comparable to previous ones? I'd like to be able to take pictures after each Invisalign tray, so I can eventually combine them into an animated gif at the end.

I'm thinking I'll take pictures in the bathroom, so lighting will be consistent with no flash.

I take pictures using the "close up" setting on the camera. I take them at the window with the blinds tilted the otherway so light is coming in but no one can see what i'm doing or they'd think i'm strange, you then need no flash. So long as you don't breathe on the lens it doesnt steam up. I take front, left & right view shots as well as almost swallowing the camera to try get the picture to show the shape of my arch. I then zoom in as much as i can to show the teeth and not my whole face (some pics look like i've taken a pic up my nose, not attractive!) I'm really glad I took these close up shots, its great when you start to see a change as well as feel it.

I wish I knew. Most of my pictures are awful. Also I find that the angle at which you hold the camera really affects how good your teeth look.. I have had shots where my teeth look almost perfect and then when I photograph the next set they look terrible again. It's a bit hit and miss. The orthodontists use a mirror to get a good angle but that probably isn't practical at home.

I just put my camera on the 'close up' setting...open my mouth really wide - throw my head back and aim haha.

I personally think that teeth look nicer with the flash on....but that's just me. I have pictures of my teeth in my post (just posted after this one) that you may want to have a look at.

    Goodluck
