    Invisalign for my Overbite?

I wore braces for about 4 years (horrible experience), no retainer after that, now 10 years later, my top teeth have shifted. The best way to describe it is that I have gaps between my 4 front teeth and my teeth appear to be crawling out of my mouth in photos... do you think Invisalign will work in my case? Here is a link to 3 photos of my teeth - most are side profiles:

Constructive opinions are greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone just had Invisalign on the upper teeth without doing the lower teeth? Wouldn't that also cut the cost in half?

No retainers????!! What was your ortho thinking?

The gaps can be closed with invisalign I'm sure, but i would have confidence in traditional braces to do the job compeletely.

Tough to say for sure without looking at more pictures.. I would get serveral ortho opinions...

Invisalign has closed my gap at the bottom well although I cant see your pictures just now and I'm not a professional so cant really comment anyway. I see you mentioned no retainer, more of my pals that had braces 10+ years ago never got retainers either, maybe that was normal back then? I know if I even go 1 night without my bottom tray in the gap slighly opens again so I'll have to be religious about retainer wear.

    Hey Lori,

I have/had a similar case to yours. In the first stage my teeth were straightened so that fixed part of the problem. in the second stage I very recently (4 days ago) had two molar teeth in my top arch removed. Having these teeth removed gives space for my from teeth to shift back and close the gap in between my bottom and top teeth so my profile will be improved.

There were a few different paths for me to go down (jaw surgery, springs or extractions) so I chose extractions as it seemed to be the best option for me.

    Goodluck

Invisalign doesn't offer a product for one arch only. The lab fee is the same for one arch or two, so it would be unlikely to find any sort of fee break. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but hope it helps!

Definitely go talk to some orthodontist's and hear what they recommend to fix your bite/smile.

Good luck with your treatment ... and retainers for life!

I also have an overbite but my orthodontist stressed that for the best results in my case I should use regular braces. I know you may not want them but they really aren't that bad if you go for ceramics, seriously very few people even notice them!

My Dentist told me invisaline can fix slight problems for over bites (like mine) but in extreme cases it needs to be metal braces becuase they can pull harder and the force is needed to move major issues
