Invisalign = 100% Perfect

Am I the only person who does not feel any pain when changing into new trays?

Since the beginning of my treatment (1 and a half years ago) I have not once had to resort to pain relief or filing down the edges of any tray...and I actually love the feeling of a new tight aligner pushing on my teeth.

For the record I have:
- Had 2 extractions mid-way through treatment to correct my jaw
- Attachments on every single tooth on my top arch
- 6 Attachments on my bottom arch

We need some positivity up in here because almost every new thread is someone sharing their story of what did NOT work for them - not that there is anything wrong with that...I just felt that Invisalign needed some love.

you go girl. The fact of the matter is, that most people come to this forum and internet help only when something is wrong. When things are going great, you rarely hear from them.

Glad to hear your treatment is going well

My experience has been just like yours Rosieee. There really is nothing quite like the feel of a properly seated, brand new aligner just moments following the very first chewie session.

I've had very little pain. When I have felt pain, I think of it as progress

Here's to thinking positively!

I generally think of pain as progress, too! However, I did have some pain when putting in the new tray this week (#3 of 7L/12U), but I think it is because there was more movement of the teeth this time around, and I also think that I am trying to "accomplish" a lot without so many trays. I am all for it; I just leave my new trays in for longer stretches so that they settle into the new position and don't hurt so much when I take them out and put them in.

I also like the feeling of a new tray. After two weeks, my teeth are literally itching for a new one; the old one feels less comfortable for the last couple of days of each cycle.

Rosiee - how long did it take for you to get from the tray on the far left to the tray on the far right?! WOW!

I haven't felt any pain either, and my teeth are tracking just fine. I like that tight feeling. Sometimes it gets slightly sore but nothing to the point of pain. It actually feels good.

Gap: Hahahah yes I agree!!! A lengthy chewie session is one of my favourite invisalign moments...firstly because it signifies a new aligner and secondly because it puts pressure on each tooth so you can see which teeth are being moved by each tray - gotta love it.

Phanton Muse: 7L and 12U!!! Wow...all up I have about 50U and 35L - that's because I had a mid course correction due to having teeth extracted to align my jaws up...perhaps you are feeling more pain also because you are having movement in bigger increments?

The FIRST photo (above) shows how my teeth moved from the start to about 10-11 months...The photo BELOW shows my teeth in August last year just after I got extractions.

I have now had invisalign for about 18 months and won't be finished completely until the beginning of 2011.

I am so happy to hear from you all though!!! I think people who are researching invisalign should be encouraged to read this post...I could just imagine how much the other posts must scare them haha!

Oooh found the photo of my extractions!! My teeth have improved alot more since then...I will try and remember tonight to taken a new one and add it to the series.
