Hello
I was just wondering how long does it generally take from your initial consultation to the actual brace fitting. I am thinking of either invisalign or incognito as options. Does it take weeks or months for the braces to arrive back from the lab so to speak? I have no idea of the timeframe. Can anybody shed any light on how long they were waiting? Thanks

I had my initial consultation for invisalign in the summer and had my aligners in Dec. I'd say that time frame is longer then needed though as I had problems fitting in appointments, had to go to another clinic for x-rays and had a tooth removed. All running smoothly I'd say 2-3 weeks after the impressions and x rays and then another 4 - 6 weeks for the aligners to come back, so probably talking a couple of months at best.
In my opinion though invisalign are really worth it. 100% convinced I did the right thing going for these over tradition braces even though its a bit more pricey!
Hope this helps!

I had my initial consultation (with molds and x-rays) in early December 2009 and I picked up my first set of aligners on January 8, 2010. However, the envelopes that the aligners are each wrapped in were dated December 21st. I suspect my ortho had them shortly thereafter so I could have had them sooner, but I would not have even considered starting treatment until after the holidays were over.
I have heard that one of the benefits to using an Invisalign Preferred Provider is that turn-around time to receive the aligners can be faster (a wait of a few weeks versus a month or more). Also, I don't know if Invisalign is only manufactured in the United States, so if you are in Ireland and they are only manufactured in the United States, you may have to allow extra time for shipping.
