When I was transitioning from tray one to tray two, I did put tray two in 12 hours early (right before bed) so that I didn't have to deal with the initial shift and discomfort; I could sleep through it!
I did ask my ortho at my last appointment if I could put in new trays a bit early, and he said no. He told me that there might still be shifting going on - even in the final days of a tray. He also said that wearing them 22+ hours (I wear them that much as well) was a really good thing, but that it doesn't take any time off the other end. I was hoping, of course, for a different answer!
That being said, this is the advice of my ortho and your ortho might feel differently. I know there are plenty of people on this forum that wear the aligners less than 22 hours daily, and some that change trays more frequently than every 14 days, and they have had a good outcome!
