    Lost Tray

    Anyone done this??
I switched trays yesterday and the bottom one vanished into thin air (like socks and tea spoons). I hunted high and low for ages and could not locate it so I have had to go on to the next one - so almost like skipping an entire tray.
There's not a lot else I can do and am just hoping that it doesn't mess up my treatment or damage my teeth.

People would tell you that you should NOT skip a tray. Instead, you should call your ortho who should have the one you lost re sent and wear your previous tray until it arrives.

Sounds sensible - I wonder how long these things take, though... I will ring them tomorrow.
    Thanks.

You have so many upper trays compared to bottom. Possibly they will just have you wear the one you put in for an extra few weeks?!

You'll be finished with your lowers so much sooner than your uppers that it shouldn't make any difference in your timetable if you wear the old lower tray until a replacement tray arrives from the ortho. If you skip a tray, you may miss important moves, and that could ultimately disrupt your treatment as time progresses. It shouldn't take but 2-3 weeks or so for your new tray to arrive.

I'll add puzzle pieces to socks, teaspoons, and Invisalign trays!

Reordered trays generally arrive in our office within the week. Do not skip to the next tray. Keep in mind that there may be a fee for replacement, depending on the original treatment plan you have worked out with your orthodontist!

This happened to me too. I seem to have a habit of yanking them out at night, and managed to lose the bottom tray... Luckily I was due to move onto the next set that day anyway but otherwise would have had to pay for a replacement!

I called today and was informed - by the receptionist - that I should move on to the next tray.... funnily enough, I found the missing tray under a chair today so have switched back to that now... what a caffuffle!
