Nearly There...

Hi all, well im nearly at the end. I have just had refinement impressions taken. Originally I had both 23U/L (9 attachements). For my lower my ortho told me to stop on tray 20 but continue till tray 22 for upper. Anyway I had an appointment on Tuesday & we discussed refinements....I was not completely happy with a couple of my teeth. Before I began my ortho told me that my midline would never be perfect & I would still have a slight overjet without surgery. I decided that was ok....I did not want surgery. My 9 attachments were taken off for the impressions, so while im waiting for my new trays Im attachment free.....& boy does it feel good!! I will probably need a few attachments put back on with my new trays however. When I reach my last refinement tray my ortho said I will still need to wear it full-time for 3 months then move onto a night time only retainer. I will try to attach pics...not sure if I know how to do that...

btw, how come you were told to stop at 20 and 22 when you have 23 trays, and go straight to refinements?

The ortho said the last 3 trays were basically to 'tighten things up' if needed. The lower teeth were already pretty close together at tray 20 & the top teeth needed to come closer together, anyway after finishing them theres 2 teeth that arent in line so I asked for refinements....& my ortho agreed these 2 teeth needed a little more work. I spoke to him on Friday to ask if my refinements were in, he said he got the clincheck back & has sent it back to Invisalign with a few tweeks hes made to it....so it could be another 3 weeks of waiting. I dont mind waiting because I want him to get the best results with one round of refinements

Your teeth look great. I am surprised you are going with refinements, but i am the same way. my ortho said i don't really need them but i have 3 teeth i want reworked! seems ridiculous, but i want them as close to perfect as possible!

You and I are about the same place. I am waiting for my refinement clincheck to come back. should be this week i think. I am not being as patient because i've been done with my top since the beginning of april. i had to wait for my bottom to catch up. ready for the next step, but the freedom of no attachments and lack of worrying about how they've been out is great!

Yay I finally got my refinements today....7 for both Upper & Lower. I also had 7 attachments put back on, 3 Upper & 4 Lower. I wasnt too happy about the attachments after having the 9 original ones removed. These trays feel nice & tight but theres no discomfort. So another 14 weeks & then hopefully im all done, although Im to wear the last set an extra 3 months before moving into a nighttime retainer.

congrats! I get my refinements on thursday but i know i'll have 8 on top and only 3 on bottom. i was annoyed at first but i've gotten over it, lol. i don't know about attachments, yet. guess i'll find out on thursday! congrats again and the final countdown can begin!
