extraction of a frontal tooth

Hi,
i just stated the treatment and today i had an extraction on tooth no. 31 - it's a frontal one and now there's a horrible gap! (i'm doing only lowers).

my ortho put some dye in my next retainer, so the gap will be less visible, but since it is a gap and not a tooth....it shows and i am so emberessed!

is there anyone here how had an extarction of a tooth and can tell me that the gap really closes nicely?

btw - i have 23 retainers, that's a lot, isn't it?

I had 4-1 extracted, and it took about 23 trays of Invisalign to close.

what about the "black triangle"? is there anyway to fix that as well? i will ask my ortho in the next appointment.

The black triangle in my situation is caused by the crowns of those central teeth being wider than the teeth at the gum line. My ortho told me it will be addressed with a combination of IPR and refinement.

Also, as time goes on, the gums will settle a little bit and should help to fill in the gap as well.

I had a lower front tooth removed. I am on tray 12 of 14 and the gap closed up fairly quickly. It only took a few sets of trays to make it unnoticeable with the trays on and after 5 or 6 sets, it was barely noticeable when my trays were out. It's scary but it will close up quickly.
