I've not read much about this, but when we first heard of it, we discussed it where I work, which is with three orthodontists.
Firstly the issues that might be able to be corrected would have to be very minor, which really makes you wonder about the need for 'Nightshift ortho'. But the main issue was, that if you use something to move a tooth (or maybe two or three teeth) for between 8 and 10 hours and then don't use it for between 16 and 14 hours, how can the movement last? Teeth move all the time they're not retained and that's why retainers are for life. Plus while teeth are in the process of moving, meaning that the bone has been 'broken down' around the root, the teeth can move more in any direction, if they're not being guided. When treatment is finished using braces or invisalign, there's a period of time where the emphasis is making sure that the teeth become stable in their new locations. This is while the braces or invisalign are still being worn full time, or in the case of invisalign 22 hours a day. After that, retainers can be worn for less and less time, until they should only need to be worn a few nights a week to keep teeth wear they should be. ... but none of the above can happen with Nightshift Ortho ... as this isn't the process they follow, and the process they follow doesn't seem to go with the science of why and how teeth move.
That aside ... there claims sound amazing ... but then so do all the 'get rich quick' schemes. One more important thing ... if Nightshift Ortho is so good with minor problems ... then why isn't every orthodontist in the world offering it? All ortho's want more patients and to have more patients, they need more available chair time ... and Nightshift Ortho would do that ... but apart from there webpage, no one here has heard of it or seen it advertised.
I'd be weary ... but definitely enquire further if this feels right for you!
