    Sucking Throat Sweets/Strepsils with Invisalign

I've got a really bad cold and my throat is really sore and dry. Strepsils help to relieve the pain, but I think they have sugar in?

Can I suck Strepsils with my aligners in or do I have to take them out? If I have to take them out every time I want to have a Strepsil it's going to be a nightmare!

    Thanks

We tell our patients to only drink water with their retainers in due to the damage sugar and/or acid will do to the enamel on the teeth. This means they have to be removed to suck strepsils or similar lozengers and then you need to rinse your mouth well to make sure the enamel on your teeth is clean.

Good luck and I hope your sore throat is gone quickly!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I think you can get some Strepsils which don't have sugar but have artificial sweetener instead - have a read on the packet!
Bonded retainers fitted upper and lower & braces removed at 19 months 2 weeks.

    Braces were:

    In-Ovation C on the top
    Damon on the bottom

there is a throat thing you can get to suck on called throat clear. its a herbal one with no sugar in it and its softer then a strepsil but a bit like jelly. sort of like a jol.

i know they come in two flavours but still dont taste amazing. however they do the job. 30 seconds of sucking on one of those babies and my throat is right as rain.
