    Cool I'm in Invisalign!

    So I went in to the orthodontist today expecting to review my clinichek. Boy was I surprised when I found out my trays were in ! It's only 3 weeks since my impressions, so I sure wasn't expecting that. I'll have 28U/28L and have already been warned about attachments (tray 3) and where they will be, the probability of a "reboot" just past midpoint and most likely refinements. I have a significant overbite and overjet, but he's confident that this will work.

    So far so good - mouth is a little sore now (about 10 hours in) but overall pretty good. I feel like I was much more prepared from lurking here for the past couple of months while I was making my decision to go with this.. I'll be getting my clinichek photos or video early next week via email, so looking forward to that.

    Welcome Bekster! Great to hear the forum lurking helped, lol. I'm guilty of that myself, but couldn't resist commenting once I arrived home with the first set of trays intact. Definitely keep us updated on the goings-on with your treatment. Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

    Regards,
    Crush

    Good luck with it!! I'm only a few hours into a new tray and it's hurting ALOT - I'm sure all the teeth are moving at once. It'll be worth it
    U31 & L23 finished.
    Refinements U9 & L9 of 13 or 16?!

    Hey and welcome! My trays took about 6 weeks from when I got my impressions done so hang in there!
    There first couple times I took out my first set it wasn't too great. It was a bit difficult and my teeth hurt without the aligners in.
    This only happened with the first tray though, luckily! Afterwards they're a lot easier to take off and it may not feel too great the
    first couple of days with each new tray but it gets better!

    Putting them in is pretty easy - even the first time. It's amazing how they kind of snap in. I have to watch out though cuz for some reason bottom left side wants to pinch my cheek in with it.
    Taking them out - top was pretty easy, bottom a little harder but not too bad. I did get an aligner remover tool (ART) in my "goodie bag" but didn't need it then. I've tried it since and it does seem to make taking them out a little easier (at least on the finger nails). I'm sure that will all change with tray 3 when I get attachments though.

    i hope i get that remover tool as well - i am sure it will make things easier on my fingernails. i am don't like the 'waiting' period before trays arrive. i know it's not the ortho's fault and i just need to be patient. it's weird, i've had these teeth for so many years and yet i find it difficult to wait another 2 weeks. lol!

    @dwfoster

    The wait for the trays is normal, it took about 5 weeks to get my first set, so hang in there. You'll be on your way in no time!

    @Bekster

    Bottom tray always proves a bit more difficult for me, maybe it's the motion of pulling them up and off as opposed to down with the top one. With regards to the remover tool, I have fairly short fingernails and it turned out to be a godsend after I had my attachments put on. Considering that you have to kind of pull the trays over the attachments when removing them, having the tool to dig in between the teeth and the tray makes a huge difference.

    I also have 28U/28L and just got them 5 days ago. First two days I didn't think I'd be able to keep going through with it, but I'm actually kinda used to them now.

    And talking about the wait - it took 11 weeks after impressions to get my aligners in. Not sure why it took so long, but I thought I'd go crazy. Then they came in just as soon as I moved to a new house and was completely stressed out and had forgotten about them, lol!
    Currently on trays 22 of 28 U/L --- OVER HALFWAY DONE!

    lanabyte -
    good to know somebody else on the same track as I am. I can tell which couple of teeth this tray is focused on. Lower right is only place where I really have any soreness right now. Glad I didn't have to wait that long. I feel very fortunate I got them as quick as I did.

    Welcome to the invisalign club. The first few days can be a challenge, but you'll get used to it. I remember that during the first weeks, it was more comfortable having the trays in than out.

    As I switch aligners, I keep the new ones in for as long as I can so the teeth settle in and discomfort is minimized. I find it best to put them in after dinner so I get about 12+ hours.
    Invisalign start date: 1/7/2011
    U - 24 of 25 (Stopped at 24)
    L - 24 of 24 (Original plan was 25; 1 less is awesome.)

    5 weeks later... Refinement start date: 1/14/2012
    U - 7 of 7... lost one of my attachments and my lazy butt took a month to have it replaced. Extended 5U to 4 weeks.
    L - 3 of 3
    Down from 11 attachments to 3 - teeth feel so much smoother.

    Had impressions done yesterday, and expect the new aligners in about 4-5 weeks.

    Thanks for the tips ChicagoB and Crush
    I'm going to ask for another ART when I see my ortho and get trays 3-4 and attachments. I have one bag that's set for work, travel etc. and it's in there. I think if I keep moving it around I'll lose it, so having 2 would be awesome.

    Invisalign braces

    According to me, Invisalign braces is one of the best option for straightening the teeth. These braces can straighten the curved and gapped teeth within short interval of time in comparison to metal braces. And the best thing is that Invisalign braces are fully transparent which cannot be noticed by any other people. It is very light weight and easily gets adjusted with the curved teeth. So just try it
