I had/have the same experience - my bite is not even close! It was strange at first but I'm used to it now and hardly notice it except when I'm eating lettuce![]()
I started invisalign today. I am so excited about finally doing this, I am 26 years old and have been wanting to straighten my teeth for many years now.
I had attachments put on this morning and got my first set of aligners. I have a pretty bad bite so I knew my mouth wouldn't close together normally wearing the aligners, but one of the attachments keeps my back teeth from being able to touch. I haven't tried to eat any real food yet, but I am seriously worried I won't be able to chew!
I am going to have a snack here shortly so I guess I'll find out then, but what do I do if I can't chew?! I have been joking with my coworkers that I may have to go on a liquid diet... But seriously, what can I do? I obviously need the attachment or it wouldn't have been included in my clincheck. Can they make it smaller so my top tooth will go down over it, do they take it off and hope everything still works like it is supposed to?
I'm going to call my dentist to talk to him about this, but what do all of you think?

round one 18/18 done! round two 3/6
Well, I can chew afterall. More so on one side than the other, but I'm not going to be forced to go on a liquid diet atleast. LOL
Hi, I had the same problem but fortunately was able to spot this as the ortho was putting the attachments on. He was able to shape them down so that I could chew and said he wanted to make sure I could chew comfortably. So it wouldn't hurt to suggest it to your dentist the next time you go in. Anything to make the Invisalign journey as painless and headacheless as possible![]()
