I take them out 3 times:
- 15 min for breakfast
- 50 min lunch
- 50 min dinner
I'm trying to minimize it, so now I take them out twice, max 3 times a day. Just wondering if more than that is allowed/normal.

Blog: I want a new smile!
I tend to take them out three times a day breakfast, lunch and dinnr only. However, having said that as I was at home this afternoon I had a cup of tea so took them out for that - oooh, what a treat ;-)
I tend to to make my tea in the morning before taking them out - go and get ready, come down and sort kids breakfast's out then sort mine out - take the trays out and eat my breekie, down my tea and then straight back in after cleaning (20 mins max). Same procedure for lunch (25 mins max) and dinner (35 mins max) - I dont want to waste valuable time when my teeth could be moving waiting for my tea to cool down!
My thinking is that if I'm really good nearly all of the time then for special occasions I will allow myself that bit longer withouht them in to have a few vinos and a nice meal out.
I take mine out four or five times a day. I stuck to three times a day for about a week but it wasn't worth it - I need to eat more regularly than that!

I also remove mine 4 or 5 times a day...probably only wear them about 20 hours of the day. I have to snack a lot at work because I work nights and it keeps me energized.
Hi everyone,
I take my trays out 3 times a day. I take them out for breakfast about 20-25 mins and then at lunch for 30-40 mins so most days I have only had them out an hour so far. I like to have a nice dinner and take more time. At dinner I have them out an hour. Only a very few occasions have I had them out longer when going out to dinner but even then it may be a hour and a half for dinner. I was given the advice that the more you wear your trays the more it helps cut down on refinements so I am hoping I that i will have a small window of refinements or none at all.![]()
Lol Boira - what can I say, I'm a fast eater! I already had a good routine what with my two little 'ins and getting ready for nursery run etc so never hung around eating anyway - don't have that luxury with kids ;-)
1. They come out around 8 AM and get cleaned after Water-Pik and brushing.
2. Around 2PM they come out but I only W.P. and put them back in.
3. Between 5:30-6 PM they come out again.
I do a full teeth (Floss, Water-Pik and brushing) and tray cleaning cleaning at night around 6-7 PM then put the trays back in.
Then the next day I start back at #1.
That's been my routine for the past 19 months. I've been done for a few months but still waiting on my retainers so I have to keep wearing my last set of trays.
I've been taking them out three times a day, missing my mid morning coffee is the hardest!
it's summer and it's soo annoying to walk down the street and not be able to have ice cream
or go hungry on the beach...
or tennis court...
and the list goes on...
I've cheated a couple of times and had ice cream with my aligners in when I've been out - followed by a lot of swishing around with water and brushing my teeth/aligners as soon as I can when I'm back indoors....
I'm writing about my Invisalign treatment at my blog, Straight Talking. Take a look
I've started leaving them in when I drink tea (not boiling hot or particularly strong) and then using mouthwash and brushing the trays afterwards. It has definitely added to my wearing time and also increased my quality of life.] because I love taking a leisurely cup of tea back to bed in the morning and not having to gulp it down with breakfast to stick to the 22 hours rule!

I miss a leisurely cup of tea.
Just wanted to update my comment above and say that when I finished my last tray and compared it with all the others I decided to stop drinking tea with my aligners left in. The others have all been crystal clear after two weeks - this one was yellowish, even slightly orange :P. I didn't notice until I compared it with the others!
Even worse, I am pretty sure my teeth are yellower a result of tea being trapped against them, even for that short time. So I am back to gulping down my cups of tea![]()
