    Trouble keeping mouth closed

This probably has to do more with jaw alignment but I thought invisalign would correct my overbite. It has corrected my overjet but I cannot keep my mouth closed!

It takes an extra effort to do so and I look angry when I do so. My teeth themselves look great with invisalign... I just thought this would be fixed as well. I've had an overbite for as long as I can remember.

Any others with overbite have this mouth open phenomenon as well? How do you deal with it?

It sounds like you're unable to close your mouth without lip strain. Often times, in a relaxed state, your mouth will be open, and as you close your mouth, you will see a wrinkling of your chin, as the chin muscle, the mentalis muscle, is being used to raise your lower lip to the upper. This often presents as a pouting of the mouth.

Often times this is a sign of a skeletal discrepancy, a short upper lip, and/or too many teeth in the mouth for the size of your mouth.

That's exactly it. I have a small mandible angled sharply downwards, giving me the overbite.. I guess... and the teeth take up a lot of space... making the mentalis cover a lot of ground to to close my mouth.

So I'm guessing this is "normal" and nothing can really be done about it (except maybe surgery of some kind.. which I'm not interested in)?
