Okay, I know I just posted a topic but this is a different issue I'm having, and I'm sure it's not just me...
I have always suffered from gum disease long before I started Invisalign and it's driving me mad. I don't get it because I brush twice a day, use antiseptic mouthwash, and I'm trying to floss more often now.
I've had problems with bad breath and pain/bleeding of my gums when I brush. It's definitely gingivitis and not peritonitis as it's not severe enough to be the latter, but obviously I want to get rid of it completely. I think it's more difficult because my teeth are so close together and crowded in some areas.
I only have Invisalign on my bottom teeth right now and the gum disease I think has spread to my top gums, if that's possible.
Are there any routines you've tried that have worked for getting rid of really stubborn gum disease like this? I have just got an electric toothbrush which hopefully will improve things. I'll be honest that sometimes after eating I'll forget to brush my teeth for a little while, and apparently you have to be quite strict with brushing after every meal, so I suspect that probably isn't helping.
Also, any tips for hygiene if you're out for the day and have had a meal or a drink etc.?
