I have 2 attachments on my front teeth and yes, they are noticeable. It's not that bad though and people would only notice them when they're up close. No worries.
Hi everyone,
I just got the call from my dentist and my Invisalign trays are in! I just scheduled a 45 minute appointment for next week to get the "buttons" or Invisalign attachments placed on my teeth and the crowded spaces between my teeth filed down so the teeth can move.
I'm definitely nervous, here's my question:
Are buttons or attachments on the front teeth noticeable? I have to have one button on one of my two front teeth. I don't talk with my teeth very often and the only time someone can see it is when I smile. Does anyone have any experience with this? What are your thoughts...
Thanks!

Invisalign start date: 1/7/2011
U - 24 of 25 (Stopped at 24)
L - 24 of 24 (Original plan was 25; 1 less is awesome.)
5 weeks later... Refinement start date: 1/14/2012
U - 7 of 7... lost one of my attachments and my lazy butt took a month to have it replaced. Extended 5U to 4 weeks.
L - 3 of 3
Down from 11 attachments to 3 - teeth feel so much smoother.
Had impressions done yesterday, and expect the new aligners in about 4-5 weeks.
I have one on my very front tooth, and you can't really notice it unless you're staring at it up close. I also have them on my canines and a bunch of other teeth. I think it *definitely* helps that the attachments are clear and not tooth-colored. Initially I told my ortho that I didn't want it on my front tooth, but he said that if I wanted perfect results, then that's what I'd need. I made peace with it and told myself that I'm paying thousands of dollars for perfect teeth, so what's a bit of awkwardness for one year? And you honestly can't really see them unless you're staring intently.
Here's a couple of pics. IMG01226-20110902-1404.jpg IMG01131-20110714-1048.jpgIMG01172-20110804-1059.jpg
The attachment I'm unhappy with is on my #6 cuspid. It sticks out at such an angle on my tooth that makes it appear to be a really crooked extension of that tooth!
Everyone has the attachments in a different place according to their correction needs.
I also had attachments placed on my 2 lower front teeth which were really sharp (even after the ortho filed it down for smoothness). The first time I tried to eat, these 2 attachments were cutting into my lip with every bite so I took an emery board and sanded them down a bit until they were smoother and not catching my lip!
