Happy birthday! I bet your confidence is through the roof.
    Invisalign start date: 1/7/2011
    U - 24 of 25 (Stopped at 24)
    L - 24 of 24 (Original plan was 25; 1 less is awesome.)

5 weeks later... Refinement start date: 1/14/2012
U - 7 of 7... lost one of my attachments and my lazy butt took a month to have it replaced. Extended 5U to 4 weeks.
    L - 3 of 3
Down from 11 attachments to 3 - teeth feel so much smoother.

Had impressions done yesterday, and expect the new aligners in about 4-5 weeks.

That's only the 9th tray? I'm afraid when you'll be finished your teeth will be too good-looking. :P

    :)

I am now wearing number 10 but when I went to pick up this set my ortho also gave me 11 - 12 -13 -14 -15

wow does number 15 look impressive she also told me that its from now on I will start to see substantial movement. Role on February and Tray 15 haha!!!

How is every one else's treatments going? ... Also can anyone share with me prices of retainers as I know that they are not included within my contract ? My ortho does NOT recommend a fixed retainer in my case. Any information would be useful

    10/35U
    10/28 L double digits!!

I asked my ortho about Vivera retainers, which are not included in my contract though regular ones are. He said it's $700 to get the Vivera ones, which I believe is a set of 4 retainers that you switch into over the course of a year.

Looks like your case is progressing very well. Congrats! I was so excited to land in the double digits too.

I'm seeing my dentist this Saturday for new impressions and can't answer all of your questions. Regarding fixed retainers, I asked about this earlier and it was not recommended either. The primary reason is although fixed retainers are convenient, you run into issues with food trapped in it. That was enough to put me off it. I was told retainers came with my treatment, but not what kind of retainers. I'll ask about it this weekend.

Based on the info I read about vivera, you're essentially wearing the first 2 sets for 6 months straight - just as you would the aligners. The 3rd set is then worn at night and the last set every few days. Looks like my mouth will be in full plastic for another year. Oh well.

Retainers aren't included in my contract either, and I'll be paying around 500 € for them. I don't know if I qualify for fixed retainers, but it's something I'll ask for when the time comes. Even if I need the Vivera ones too in top of them. After all the time, pain and money, I like to think my teeth are kept in place 24/7.

Wow! Your teeth look GREAT so far!! This gives me hope! haha I haven't started my first tray yet, but they should hopefully be in by the end of January!! I'm so excited!

As far as retainers go, my ortho outlined in my contract that I will get a bonded retainer on my bottom arch and a vivera for my upper arch, which are both covered in the regular fees I'm paying for treatment. I'm really surprised how many people's orthodontists or dentists don't include them in the overall treatment price! Really surprised.

Thankss glitzy ... yeahh I know its rubbish knowing that I am going to have to shell out more money for retainers at the end but that's a while away yet. If all goes to plan first time round I'll be finished for Christmas this year maybe my family can all chip in and get me them as a xmas present. lol

...Happy new year every one x

(Will get some more photos up next set of trays I reckon)
