Continued neck pain and swollen lymph nodes

So, this weekend the swollen lymph nodes and neck pain during the night got to be so much that I decided to take out my aligners. I don't know if it is the aligners or something else, but not having them in feels better at the moment. This is only #2 of 12.

I'm not sure if this is a possible allergic reaction or if it is physical - in that the body is responding to the teeth moving and pushing back. Not sure.

I won't be able to get a hold of my dentist till Tuesday, I'm thinking of leaving them out till then.. I can't imagine that it will mess up the whole/most recent process to leave them out 48 hours.. Also, it would be good to see if everything goes back to normal in that period of time or not. If it does and then I put them back IN, well then we'll know for sure.

    Hi Paul

When I had my reaction after talking to Align, my dentist had me take mine out for 3 days to see if it was the trays or something else causing the reaction. After a 1.5 days of not wearing trays I was symptom free.

Hopefully, you will get some relief when you have them out and can possibly get the hypo-allergenic trays.

    Good luck,

    Sharon

Well, things got better but I am not sure it is the trays. they are going back in. Going back in to the #2 tray which I had been on about a week, after 48 hours out was a bit hard to get in and a bit more painful going on than when I FIRST put it on. Doesn't make too much sense, but we'll see. I have the feeling that the pressure is creating the pain in the neck though.

and I have pain in my chin. Don't know also if there is any connection with Invisalign but got pain in a lymph node inder the chin and also 2 big herpeses on the lips - I have never had such big ones. And it hurts so much when I have to stretch my lips to take the trays out. Lets hope that the final result will deserve all these troubles

    jaw

Well, the latest issue was the major pain in my JAW, back part of the lower jaw it felt like. I literally had to stop and take them out for a day. Pain went away pretty quickly, sad thing. I'm back in now, will tack on an extra couple days with these aligners to make up for the gap in coverage.

Have did you ever discuss any of your symptoms with your dentist? What did he/she say?

There have been a few others on here that seemed to have an allergy to Invisalign. At least one of them got a new set to try that was supposedly hypo-allergenic. Do a search on here for allergy or allergic. You might find out what they got and talk to your provider about seeing if you could possibly try those
