Does $7,745 sound right for invisalign? Just had a consultation

This is the price quote they gave me. It broke out as follows:

    Invsalign Treatment Diagnostic Records/Treatment Planning - $340
    Professional Service Treatment - $5795
Invisalign set up fee - $1550
    Initial retainers/One year follow up - $400

My treatment time is estimated to be 15-18 months. I do plan on getting other consultations as well. My teeth are not severely bad. I just though the price was rather high for what I have been seeing online while I was doing my research. Just wanted to hear thoughts on people who have already received the treatment. Thanks!

I got two quotes, one from a premier provider and the other from an elite provider. The premier guy quoted me at $4,900 for 12-14 months and the elite was $4,750 for 8-11 months. I ended up going with the elite and I will have 23 trays which works out to about 10 1/2 months. $7,745 seams a bit excessive to me but I guess it depends on where you live, im right in the boston area.

Depends on whether your provider is an ortho or a dentist, and whether you're in a major metro area or not. I'm in DC and my ortho is an elite platinum provider, so my invisalign treatment is $7k US for the whole shebang (consult + molds + 12 months of Invisalign + retainers + year of retention observation).
    Invisalign:
    23/31 U (2/3 done!)

    6/6 L refinements; Completed 15/15 L

I received two quotes. One was $7,000 and the other $4200. I went with the 4200 and for the most part I am happy with my result but after seeing a few of the girls teeth from the $7000 guy, it was well worth the money, their teeth are gorgeous. Doc contoured the teeth as well, simply amazing.

I'm with an Elite Preferred Provider in California and my fee is ~$7K for expected treatment time of up to 18 months. I got a similar estimate from another orthodontist. Are you on the West Coast?

£4000 for me which is roughly $6300 in the UK. Includes treatment as long as it take (up to 3 x refinements), whitening, retainers. If treatment stopped now I'd be happy but I still have 16 trays to go in my first refinement.
    U31 & L23 finished.
    Refinements U9 & L9 of 13 or 16?!

Mine was roughly $4600 for 24 upper, 10 lower to start (just under a year) and the cost will cover any refinements and retainers. I’m in the upper Midwest. My dentist does double duty of dentistry and orthodontia (we talked about braces 6 years ago but I wasn’t ready then) but is only a general provider of invisalign.
I’m early in the process (only on my second trays) but I have high hopes and I love my dentist.

Mine was $3500. Original set of 25 aligners and currently on the first phase of refinements. I got some home whitening solution to use as well. He'll also contour my teeth when the process has been completed. This also includes retainers at the end of treatment.

Prices vary by location as well. BTW, my provider is elite premier or whatever that's called.
    Invisalign start date: 1/7/2011
    U - 24 of 25 (Stopped at 24)
    L - 24 of 24 (Original plan was 25; 1 less is awesome.)

5 weeks later... Refinement start date: 1/14/2012
U - 7 of 7... lost one of my attachments and my lazy butt took a month to have it replaced. Extended 5U to 4 weeks.
    L - 3 of 3
Down from 11 attachments to 3 - teeth feel so much smoother.

Had impressions done yesterday, and expect the new aligners in about 4-5 weeks.
