    Invisilign and Pregnant!!

    Hi all,

I'm on my 7th tray now and i just found out that i'm 5-week pregnant! my due date is Aug 31st, 2012 which is the first day of my 25th and final aligner!
So i'll be having my aligner on while giving birth... but that's not what I'm concerned about the most, what i'm worried is whether invisilign has anything to do with pregnancy? I heard that our teeth might shift during pregnancy and i hope i wouldn't vomit much with the trays on!! that's really gross...(so far only feeling nauseous but no vomit yet). i might also have cravings but it'll be a pain in the butt to take my aligner in and out and brush all the time...
Anyone had the same experience? or has heard about anything about being pregnant during invisilign treatment?

The reason Invisalign is such a great product, because you can remove them. The only problem with pregnancy is that your gums sometimes become inflamed, at least that is what I experienced. You really should have no problems wearing invisalign while you are pregnant.

Congratulations! I asked this same question a couple of weeks ago, but nobody responded. I've done a lot of research, but haven't found anything about whether Invisalign is recommended during pregnancy. The main concern I have is whether there are any toxins in the plastic that can leech out and affect a growing fetus. Please let me know if you find anything about this.

I have wore invisalign during my whole pregnancy.
Even wore them while giving birth.
My son was born in august 2011.

Don't worry. Its a big advantage being pregnant, because hormones makes your teeth shift more easier and smoother. At least that what i experienced. I had no pain or sour teeth at all and the progress went excellent. The only annoying thing is that i was extremely hungry all the time. And i couldnt eat whenever i wanted.
im really happy to have the invisalign treatment while being pregnant. I felt so ugly and fat, so why not having the ugly invisalign at the same time. Now i look stunning as a new mother and great teeth hihihi.

Good luck! If you have more questions please feel free to ask!

thanks so much for the replies!!
LeslieKnope, I don't think Invisilign contains any toxins. If so it would also affect our health even if we're not pregnant. orthodontists made sure it's safe since it's something we put in our mouths for 22 hours for months. But if you have any new info about it please let me know!

Dank u wel Azn, I feel much better now! Wearing the aligner while giving birth sounds weird but I guess I wouldn't care when it comes to that moment!
(I have relatives from the Netherlands too! i love Amsterdam!)

I'll have my first ultrasound taken tomorrow. Hope the little one is fine. By the time he/she comes out, my teeth will be straightened!! yay!

    Agness, good luck!

Just hold on to that thougt. when your baby comes out you're teeth will look amazing!
and while giving birth you probably wont feel like eating so having them in or not is the last thing you will be concerning about.

Good luck with your pregnancy and invisalign!

    Congratulations!

When the time comes, make sure you tell the hospital that you are wearing them just in case you need to remove them for emergency c-section if they put you under general anasthetic.
