Canine in incorrect spot/missing lateral incisor

I visited my dentist today with a few questions and procedures i had to get done/wanted finished. Im 18 years old and my parents never had the money for braces until recently when we got some stuff paid off. I went to the dentist to get my crown fitted for my lateral incisor on the left side of my mouth which is for the most part "normal" looking. The right side however is missing a lateral incisor and has the canine tooth right next to the central incisors(i've been told this is fairly common). I asked him if Invisalign would correct this, by moving the canine over to the correct spot and getting a lateral incisor implant and he said that it probably wouldn't. This was a bit of a heartbreaker to me because at this point in my life, i really don't want to get "traditional" braces as i'm a Freshman in college, and it would just be very embarrassing when meeting girls/interviews/etc.

So i guess my question is, do you guys think Invisalign, ClearCorrect, or some other treatments would work on fixing my problem?

I've also been looking into some "speed" systems where i would only have braces for 6-9 months(or so they claim) instead of the 12-24 months. However, its been difficult to find information on these things. Can anyone provide some input on this Speed System from Strite Industries and attest to its effectiveness/ineffectiveness.

i should probably also mention that when sliding the Canine tooth over, they would also be removing a baby tooth which i presume to be what my lateral incisor used to be to create space for the canine. It sounds complicated, i know.

If I were in your shoes, I'd go for the regular braces. Nobody really cares about braces in college. So many people have them nowadays, that it's not a big deal. Many of my college classmates had braces up until senior year and beyond. They have _gorgeous_ teeth now! Think of it as an investment in your adult smile. Have you looked at clear and ceramic braces? You wouldn't have the stereotypical "metal mouth" with those, and you wouldn't have to deal with the nuisance of Invisalign during college. Just my two cents.

Also, you should consult an orthodontist in addition to your regular dentist. An ortho would be able to give you a much better understanding of what's possible for your teeth.

Totally get it done while in college... I wish i had! Anyways, braces hurt... I would not want to "speed it up" by adding more force than I’m already getting... this is torture. LOL. And really, NOT a SINGLE person has cared that I had braces. A coworker of mine actually just started dating someone in braces... so, if it's dating you're worried about, I am sure it will actually turn out to be a blessing, because only that are genuinely interested in you won't care!

As far as not having a middle incisor... I have seen several people on this board get an incisor removed to make space, so they actually only have 3 front teeth... but once they're straight, I literally have to count them to realize it.

Having worn both metal and invisalign braces, I will definitely attest to the fact that regular braces HURT A LOT!!! I think I forgot how much they hurt until I started reading these boards.
