    waiting to start my treatment

Okay, so i have approved my clinchecks and i am waiting to get my first set of trays. Does anyone know how long i am going to have to wait? its only been 5 days and i am already getting impatient.

Is there any tips on pain relief? i am aware there will be some pain, but i am rubbish at pain!!!

I have not been told how many trays i have to have yet!!!

It's supposed to be weeks before they come through - your ortho's office should be able to give you an estimated wait time. Use this time to enjoy eating and drinking freely...you will miss it!

It depends on where you live and I also think what level provider you have. I had trays 3 weeks from the day I had impressions taken but have seen others on here where it took closer to eight weeks. I'd ask your provider what the usual wait for there is. At least that would give you an idea. Waiting is the hard part, but like Teefers said eat and drink now, cuz even though you can "eat anything" with Invisalign you shouldn't eat or drink anything except water with them in.

hey i just started my treatment yesterday. One thing i have to stay is just keep patient, there could be setbacks.
My first impressions were "damaged" in the mail due to my ortho not packaging them correctly, so after 2 weeks of waiting i was called in to get more impression. It was such a let down because i assumed they had some good news! then i had to wait over the christmas break, and just recently we had an ice storm that took out power so i had to wait even longer. all in all from first impressions to when i got my trays, it took about a month and 3 weeks.

Everyone has different pain threashholds obviously but this is my first FULL day with them on and i feel no discomfort. The first day i had some tenderness when eating or brushing but i just took a few ibuprophen and it was all good.

I know how it is though, just try to be patient. itll be well worth the wait

It took 6 weeks to get my first lot then 8 to get the refinements (Christmas didn't help that).

I've had pain with some trays but it's been bearable and wears off after a few days.

    Good luck with it!
    U31 & L23 finished.
    Refinements U9 & L9 of 13 or 16?!

My ortho told me that it all depended on how many cases he submitted along with mine. More cases equaling longer wait time. Apparently there were a lot because it took 11 weeks for my trays to come in.
Currently on trays 22 of 28 U/L --- OVER HALFWAY DONE!

It took 8 weeks for my trays to come in after impressions. On the first day I had minor tenderness in certain teeth when I ate and I kept biting my lip as a result of the upper and lower attachments. I took 2 tylenol, so there was no real pain. The next day it was fine. I had heavy salivating which lasted about 5 days and then severe dry mouth which lasted about 3 days. It's really been an ok journey so far.
