    im so confusedd..need help!?

hi guys..i got a call from my dentist today saying my treatment plan from clearstep which is similar to invisalign had arrived..as i couldnt make it to see him i had the treatment plan posted to me so i could go over it then go for an appointment..problem is im really confused, i dont no any of this dental lingo and i bit sad to be honest :(...just wanted to no if anyone could shed light on what this means:

    upper arch
    extract the upper 2nd premolars
open the bite using posterior bite raisers
retract the 4s using sectional fixed
retract the 3s using sectional fixed
align 4-4 using the clearstep positioners
    retain 4-4 using bonded retainer
close space in buccal segments using sectional fixed
    permenantly retain

    lower arch
    extract the lower 5's
retract lower 4's using sectional fixed
retract the lower 3s using sectional fixed
align lower 4-4 using clearstep positioners
retain 4-4 with a bonded retainer
close space in buccal segments using sectional fixed
    permenatly retain

guys what does this even mean? and what are sectional fixed braces? has any one had them?
    cheers

Have you tried calling the dentist to ask specifically what this means? It's the doctor's job to explain your treatment to you, so please don't be shy to ask for more information. It's their job. There aren't many dentists/orthos on this forum, so it may be difficult to get the information you need on here. Sorry can't be of more help :(
    Invisalign:
Upper: Completed 31/31 U; waiting for 3 refinements for upper arch.

Lower: Completed 15/15 L; completed 6/6 refinements set #1; completed 3/3 refinements set #2. Still unhappy with bottom arch and bite...

hi yes ive called for a chat and im going in for a appointment in a couple of days..trouble is its really getting me down and i thought id have some good news like id have to wear so many aligners but in my case ive gotta do a whole lot of other things not just aligners :(..im a student and have exams n the nexxt few weeks but i cant study due to the thoughts of this messed up treatment plan..ive been researching teeth for he past 8 hours! lol..i dont no whether il have to have the sectional braces with the aligners then it wont be too bad..or the brace first then the aligners because its giving me like 2 and a half years treatment! when im pretty sure traditional braces would do it before this...argh im so :(
thankyou for your reply though much appreciated

Have you paid for the treatment already? If not, and you'd prefer traditional braces, then tell the doctor you'd like to switch. You should know that most people with traditional braces wear them for about 2-3 years, though.

This is certainly nothing to distract you from your studies! Hit the books, forget about the braces, and focus. It's really not a huge deal. And even if you need 2.5 years' treatment, it'll be over before you know it. I wish I had the money to get Invisalign while I was still in school, but alas I was a broke student and had to wait until I was working. And lots of people never have the opportunity for orthodontic treatment at all. It really could be so much worse.

I have £1500 left to pay. Tbh I think it can be done without extraction but I ain't a dentist. I don't want a Hollywood smile but just straight so I don't look like bugs bunny or something lol..I've waited so long for this and just when I thought its happen I'm told it's gonna be about 2 and a half years. When I no for a fact a lot of ipr and clear aligners could do it well! Il just have to wait an see..fingers crossed its better news. If someone I knew was stressing about braces like this I'd laugh at them but honestly it really gets to me I'm proper down in the dumps can't concentrate at all :( thanks for the reply
