drinking @ bars

hi...i'm about to get invisalign braces and i just have a couple of questions...

i'm 22 and i have a fairly active social life which involves drinking at bars and clubs for hours at a time on the weekends. will getting invisalign braces mean that i'll have to put a stop to that, since you should only really drink water while having them in? are there certain alcoholic drinks i can get away with drinking with my braces in? i can't see myself stopping to brush my teeth in a bar bathroom between drinks either. any advice would help! thanks! i'm sure i sound like a lush...

and what about kissing? do i need to take them out to kiss somone?

I am looking at getting invisalign's too and one of my queries was what about drinking Alcohol whilst wearing them.

Drinking with invisalign is ok. Just try to pass the drink right to your throat if that makes sense. If the alchohol or anything else gets trapped in the retainer and your teeth, you will stain the retainer, thus defeating its invisible appearance.

The other option is to make sure you brush it when you get home...

are you 100% positive that we can drink with invisalign?

btw. i think that drinking with straw would be perfect solution, and you get drunk easier

croatian_girl room temperature water is fine to drink with aligners in place.

What's necessary to remember is, if you drink sugary or drinks with acid (most fruit drinks), and some liquid gets in your aligners ... which it will even when you use a straw, as it's going to be in your saliva ... then this liquid will be in contact with your aligner and your teeth. The result will most likely be damage to the enamel of your teeth, and damage to the aligner.

If anyone is going to find it too difficult to give up snacks and drinks, then your best choice is brackets ... on the lingual or front of your teeth.
