Pain after iBraces

I just had iBraces put on 2 days ago, and the pain is killing me. I can barely speak and eat because of ulcers on my tongue. Can someone tell me how long it will take to get used to this? If there was a light at the end of the tunnel, it would be more bearable. Please also throw any tips in reducing the pain. I'm already taking Tylenol and ibuprofen, and putting wax on the braces.

Wow 10 days! That sounds like a long time to be in that much pain. I am really afraid of the pain, I don't handle pain well at all. Hopefully I will have a different expirence then everyone else!

There is nothing you can do to reduce pain But apart from taking painkillers, get your self engaged in some thing that keeps your mind away from thinking about braces. Initially when I got my braces they used to ache a lot so I used to divert my attention by keeping my self-busy.

I realize this is late...but I was wondering if ice on the jaw would help to reduce swelling and pain?

Here's honesty

I got mine exactly two weeks ago...this was my first time to change them myself....so I'm really new at this. Ok, first...forget the wax...it's only prolonging your suffering. I toughed it out with tylenol and my mouth healed in about 5 days...it seems long, but once those callouses are formed, you should be pretty good...tough it out...My tongue was almost bleeding. Secondly, Malt-o-meal is your friend. So is easy mac. Drinking milk and soda helped me, I really don't know why...I also used reach restoring mouthwash...that kind of numbed my tongue for a bit...and orajel is always useful....see if your orthodontist will give you the strong stuff...i hope this helps...btw, I am a self-proclaimed wimp, so that should give you insight in my pain tollerance.
