    Surgery For Crossbite/underbite

    I'm having surgery for a crossbite and underbite at the end of the month, but i want to take my braces off after ive recovered. is that possible? safe?

    I'm not sure I follow? Are you saying that you don't want to follow through to the end of your treatment, and that you want to remove the braces as soon as you are post-op? I'm not sure about how soon it would be safe to do so, and there's also the practicality of needing to be able to open your mouth wide enough, and for long enough too (your range of motion will be very small post-op). But why would you not, after going through your time in braces so far, then undergoing an invasive surgery, want to follow through to completion, to get the very best result possible. I fear that if you cut treatment short, you'd end up regretting it in the years to come.
